Quick summary: it's a boost, but not by any bounds or leaps. One thing is for sure, it has really impressive black levels. The HDR adds touches here and there with skin tones, scenery, greens, etc --- but the black levels were really on point. I know that's vague, I'll get a better "review" when I can put it together properly.

Thanks. I’ll probably stick with the Blu-ray as that is still really nice quality. Maybe pick this up if it goes cheap on Black Friday or something. Look forward to the full review.

If I had to guess, they might come eventually but maybe weren't done yet and Lionsgate wanted to have at least the first one out for it's 10 year anniversary next month.

They also could be seeing if it's worth doing the rest based on sales of this.

Might be a while, KA1 was Lionsgate but KA2 is Universal, and Universal seems to not care about catalog 4K as much, unless they have something to tie it into (like Jurassic Park/World released to tie into JW2, etc etc).

I'm surprised Breaking Dawn Part 2 doesn't have an extended cut yet.

Same! I keep waiting for them to announce it and so far nothing. Maybe they are keeping that in their back pocket for some reason.

The extended editions are just the movie with the deleted scenes spliced back in though, aren't they? Just a way to trick people into paying more while not really getting anything of substance, or else they wouldn't have been deleted in the first place.

My question is about the audio. Since getting an Atmos-capable system, I've found myself buying movies I've previously bought on Blu-ray with non-Atmos audio on 4K UHD with Atmos tracks. In almost all cases, it's seemed worth it. Only The Martian didn't seem to have much better "depth" or quality... but that may simply be because of how the movie was "shot".

Anyway, if anyone has bought the 4K digital copies on Vudu and can comment about the Atmos audio... I'd sure appreciate it.

Just a heads up. The iTunes copies seem to have the same 5.1 audio as the Blu-Ray discs, where Vudu says it's Dolby Atmos.

Gotta give the reviewers respect for giving the movie an unabashed 4/5.

Never seen more than a few minutes on TV and it looked like it had very wooden acting to me, so I turned the channel. I'm surprised to see Jeffrey Kaufman in his review gave it 4 stars? Is it actually good, or is it just like a soap opera or something where if you happen to get invested in it you'll love it, but everyone else looks at it for the crap that it is, and maybe this reviewer just happens to be one of the fans? I've personally never met somebody who admits to liking these movies... I'm confused!

So, if all the movies in this saga are on iTunes in 4K Dolby Vision, do we have any hope of getting all of them on disc?

Actually the story line is good. I thought these might be your typical teen romance but a fews years later when heavily discounted I decided to buy the series and discovered they are actually quite interesting/entertaining to watch. We have been exposed to the vampires vs lycans in Underworld series, this is far tamer, more rewatchable variation with the young girl who is intellectually curious to the secrets around her that no one knows about. A impossible romance between the main players develops which is why it was an box office phenomenon. Like the film locations. I picked up the 4k yesterday after seeing early reviews.
