![]() I did not see any threads in the 4K UHD wish list forums for this movie. With some Halloween II love from the other forums, I figured I would make THIS one. ![]() IMO, the best sequel (Even if Carpenter hates it.) with the best conclusion to Michael Myers, Laurie Strode and Dr. Sam Loomis. For some fans, like myself, it ended here and should have been the final film for Michael Myers. Hopefully with the success of David Gordon Green's Halloween (2018), Universal will somehow release a 4K UHD version of Halloween II next year. It would look so nice put next to the original film in 4k UHD on our shelves. ![]() Last edited by IncrediblesFan82; 10-24-2018 at 03:10 PM. |

I'm a big fan of Halloween II (even though it's a bit cheesy).
Especially the nurse with the amazing rockets on her chest. ![]() |

So, with Universal's sporadic catalog 4K releases, it's hard to say if Shout (Scream) Factory would release this (no idea how their sales were on their first UHD release, The Deer Hunter) or if it would be Universal themselves. From what I've noticed with Shout and Arrow (and even Criterion) is if they only struck a deal with Universal for a special edition blu-ray, then Universal will release the 4K (such as Waterworld for Arrow and Parasite for Criterion). Obviously, license renewals could be a thing as well, but I wouldn't be surprised if, say, The Thing gets a 4K release directly from Universal.
Aside from this, we know Universal is also sitting on a 4K restoration of the European cut Army of Darkness, which was used on the Scream Factory release (and used to reconstruct the US cut). So if Universal and/or Scream can get AOD on 4K so we can complete the trilogy on the format, that would be great, lol. As for the Universal Halloween films, I wouldn't be shocked if there was an attempt at a double feature release with 4Ks of both II and III. I'm still not the biggest fan of the latter, but it's definitely had a bigger cult following in the last 5-10 years. II, of course, is still the best sequel of the pre-2018 timeline, so it would be wise for Universal/Scream to jump on it... even if it dates my steelbook of the standard blu, lol. |
