I have no interest in Chicken Run but I am interested in the possibility of other MIA DreamWorks titles coming to Blu, such as The Time Machine remake and What Lies Beneath.

I liked Chicken Run, and I would buy it on Blu-ray. 4K would be even better.

About bloody time! This is especially opportune since the region-free 2010 Universum Film German release (which was the easiest way to watch the film on BD in the US) is now OOP and replaced by a Region B-locked Studio Canal re-release.

Nice. Another DVD to retire.

That DVD is so old, BTW, that it was distributed by Universal, and DreamWorks Animation has gone through distribution eras with Paramount and Fox and then back to Universal in the 18 years between!

DreamWorks and DreamWorks Animation are two separate companies. They were severed in 2004. Universal bought DreamWorks Animation recently, but the DreamWorks catalog belongs to Paramount.

Hope this means that Wallace & Gromit: Curse Of The Were-Rabbit will be following soon.

You'd think. It's the ONLY Best Animated Feature Oscar winner not on Blu-ray yet.

They seem to be doing the Dreamworks/Aardman movies in chronological order, mostly. The only real hiccup is them doing Chicken Run before Road to El Dorado.

I wonder how the picture quality will be? Apparently the transfer used for The Prince of Egypt was not-so-good.

They announced El Dorado today as well, so you might be on to something here.

If that's the case than Sinbad, Shark Tale, and Wallace & Gromit will probably be the next wave with Over the Hedge and Flushed Away being the last or together with the other three.

I've had the region free DE release for a few years now and it looks/sounds great.

With Shrek 1+2, Spirit, Madagascar 1 and IIRC everything from Bee Movie onwards already accounted for, that seems likely. It would just be a matter of filling gaps.

I'm gunning for Wallace and Gromit. The shorts have been on Blu-Ray for years, so the movie's absence has always been that much more conspicuous.
