My Circuit City has this TV at 20% off for a total of $799.00. Good deal or would you recommend going to a higher rated 6 or 7 series TV?

black friday had the ln40a500 for that price as well. I personally would not buy form circuit city...their deals are crap. I would go for a ln46a550 for 400 more at bb or get the 40" 6 series for the same price. It would be worth the extra money to hold off for a bit. Plus right now you get a 200 gift card to the nfl shop. Sell that baby on ebay and you are lookin at 6 more inches of tv for only 200 more.

That would be fine, but I am looking for a TV that is no more than 40" - 42" in size....the room is smaller. I have a 50" Sammy Plasma in the TV room.

I have this tv.. It looks great! But if I were you I'll buy it at best buy for the same price starting sunday. Its on the sales flyer. Atleast you can return it if there's a problem..
