All That Jazz Blu-ray REVIEW

I think it is very easy to tell that this release was meant to be the definitive home video release of Bob Fosse's masterpiece. It should be a mandatory purchase for everyone

3.0 surround? Is that a 3/0 or a 2/1 configuration?

Saw this Film last night for the first time...

Excellent. Immediately goes in that Upper Tier of Musicals I've seen.

Will definitely be buying it during the next B&N 50% off sale.

Default check your Costco for $19.99

Just got back from the local Costco nd they had if for $19.99, which is the lowest price so far, maybe a long time before that price is beat.

haven't seen it.
It seems dark and depressing, and although I LOVE musicals, I like them happy and bright!
(though I'm generally into depressing films)

Haven't seen it in years, own the DVD. I bought the BD today & watched it tonight & was blown away by PQ/AQ.

Yes, it is 3.0 so, sound comes out of your front 3 speakers & none from the surrounds. Whether or not your sub is active depends on your set up. There is no 0.1 channel for low frequency effects but, if your sub is set to play the lower frequencies, then it will play for this.

It deals with some dark subject matter, but I wouldn't call All That Jazz depressing, there is a lot of black comedy in the film. With Bob Fosse's musicals I like the juxtaposition of dark, sophistiicated subject matter and song and dance numbers.

Finally took this off my 'to watch' pile last night and I can't believe I have been missing out on this amazing film. Emotional, spectacular, beautifully shot and scenes have been kicking around my head every five minutes since the film finished.

This will be coming from Fox Japan on January 9th, 2019. It might be a Japanese exclusive, and it might end up being region locked (there is precedent for both from Fox Japan), but it apparently will have an English: DTS-HD MA 5.1 track, and no extras:

Totally. I threw it on to watch a few minutes (something about seeing Scheider rejuvenates me -- I've seen Cohen & Tate an indefensible number of times) and ended up watching the whole thing. It's mesmerizing.

"All That Jazz" is easily one of my favorite Criterion blind buys. Roy Scheider, the editing, and dance sequences are just majestic.

ALL THAT JAZZ is one of the best films of the '70s, IMO, and the Criterion BD is a dream come true. It looks and sounds amazing.

Bob Fosse was one of the finest American filmmakers of all time. SWEET CHARITY, CABARET, LENNY, ALL THAT JAZZ and STAR 80 are all incredible, to varying degrees (the last three listed are my favorites). Twilight Time's BD of LENNY is very nice (not sure if it's still in print), and STAR 80 is in desperate need of a BD release. I really hope Criterion gets around to that one, especially since they've been churning out older Warner titles.

I've pretty much liked Roy Scheider is anything he's done. Jaws is my favorite movie of all time so I know that has something to do with it but it's not just that. Scheider just had a great charismatic quality that made him likeable. He seemed like the kind of guy that you'd love to have for a friend, an Uncle, a dad.... etc.

All That Jazz is one of his crowning achievements for sure

Jaws is a top 5 movie for me and I love Sorcerer, Marathon Man and The Seven Up's, I find myself going back to movies like Still Of The Night, Last Embrace and 52 Pick Up more often than i might otherwise just because of Scheider. Hes just flat out awesome
