Default The Twin Peaks Tv-Series Thread.

What i miss here on blu-ray.com is a dedicated Twin Peaks thread.

This is by far, faaar the best Tv-Show ever imo. Always fun to discuss the weird things that was going on in the town of TP.

What i want to know is, what was your fav. memories from the show?

What got you hooked? Which actors did u like best? Or which one of the girls did u like the most.

I hope there are some TP fans here who´s ready to unleash a bunch of forgotten memories from this 2 seasoner.

I just finished the first episode. I remember seeing episodes here and there when I was real young but this is my first foray into the show as an adult. I was very intrigued and interested to find out what happens next, which hopefully I will find out more later on today or tonight when I get some time. I love the casting, lots of familiar faces, there really isn't anybody on the show I don't recognize from other things. My favorite quote of the first episode had to be from the town meeting:

Agent Cooper: Who's the lady with the log?
Sheriff Truman: We call her the log lady.

Twin Peaks is what televisions were invented for.

Federal Bureau of Investigations Special Agent Dale Cooper is one of the best characters in any media and my absolute favorite of the series.

Favorite woman is easily Sherilyn Fenn's Audrey Horne.

I need to rewatch my gold box set again

I was very surprised when I check for a Twin Peaks thread and this was all I found. Especially considering a certain fella with an Agent Cooper avatar.

I am going to go watch the 2nd episode now. I honestly thought it was going to be like most early tv shows, your memory tells you they are a lot better and once you watch it, there is a lot of eye rolling and "oh come on!" but I was very intrigued by the events of the first episode. I honestly don't think I ever found out who killed Laura Palmer, or if I did I have absolutely no knowledge of it, so for me and all intents and purposes this is my first time with Twin Peaks.

I too was thinking after one episode how much I am lovin Sherilyn but I've always liked her, she's just gorgeous.

Have been a Peaks fan since I saw it in the UK when it was first back in 1990 I believe, if it it wasn't for The Wire this would have still remained my fav series of all time.

I own the Region 1 boxset but have not got round to watching it completely, I had the Region 1 series 1 set and got the series 2 when that was released and watched them but have only watched the extras and about 10 episodes of the gold set, before that I owned the VHS set and watched it every year and introduced a number of friends to the world of Twin Peaks

Every time I watch it's like revisting an old friend, it takes no time to become immersed in the world again and the characters are all richly drawn. Have to agree Cooper is without doubt one of the best characters to have appeared on T.V

Peaks was a game changer, it showed that Televison could be cinematic, Lynch and Frost undoubtedly were instumental in how TV series were from then on, X-Files, Buffy, Lost etc, even the likes of Soprano's have it's influence.

Whether this will make it onto Blu ray soon who knows, it took ages to be made available on DVD as whole so I won't hold my breath, the Gold Box looks stunning so I'm in no hurry.

Yeah damn fine piece of televison.

I didn't have any memories of it, actually, I blind bought the gold box set when it came out because I'm a fan of Lynch and have been wanting to see it, but there was that whole deal with the pilot and season one being out of print and hard to find/expensive, so I never looked into it.

I hate(d) the first part of the pilot, still do, and was like "I just spent $75 on THIS??" but the show picks up as soon as Coop enters. I also hate the movie, Fire Walk With Me. It's too bad it's so terrible, that squashed all hope of ever really returning to Twin Peaks.

...I'm gonna listen to the soundtrack now. <3 Angelo's score.

I loved this series, definitely one of my favorites of all time. Its a shame that it was so short, and that the movie was terrible.

Holy crap is this show weird lol. There isn't a single normal person on the entire show. I just finished episode 4. I think my two favorite moments of WTF happened in episode 3, the first being Agent Cooper's "J" game with the mason jar, bucket of rocks and the chalk board. The 2nd being Leland Palmer's jazz freakout with the picture of Laura and the insane screaming. This show is just so frakking weird I just gotta keep watching. Without giving away any spoilers, do we find out what happened to Laura by the end of the first season, or did it take the entire series?

That scene cracks me up every time.

There is no way to answer that without being a spoiler. Just keep watching.

I love the movie! It scares the crap out of me when
[Show spoiler]Laura sees Bob in her bedroom!

"Sheriff, it's Pete Martell up at the mill. Um, I'm gonna transfer it to the phone on the table by the red chair, the red chair against the wall. The little table, with the lamp on it - the lamp that we moved from the corner? The BLACK phone, not the brown phone."

So I finished the first season. Not all of the questions where answered, but was rather disappointed with all the evidence leading up to the very obvious conclusion that Leo is responsible. I keep holding out hope for something much more sinister than the way the first season lead, but by all accounts, Laura was just a drugged up slutty teen. Lol, I hope the 2nd season keeps the weird but twists away from where I forsee it going. It can't be Leo, that was obvious from the moment he showed up. I'm hoping he was just a season long red herring. I'll start season 2 tomorrow.

A unique show, I doubt it would survive past its first season today. The crazy hype surrounding who killed Laura Palmer fizzled as the show went further and further into bizarre plots. But everyone should watch it all the way through at least once.

I was just thinking the whole time, this guy is nuts, haha.

You know honestly with his very strange behavior, his obsession with Douglas Fir's, black coffee and pie, strange conversations with his tape record, I was really doubting for the first few episodes that he was actually even FBI. I thought he was the killer,

One thing I love about this show is I was raised in Washington and currently still live only an hour north of Snoqualmie, so I recognize a lot of the scenery they show. After I graduated from high school and moved across the state for a period of time, I was 20 minutes outside of Roslyn where Northern Exposure was filmed.

I've been to the real life Great Northern hotel. I had a cup of coffee. It was alright. There was a dissapointing lack of Norwegians.

I have actually stayed there but it was years ago, and I knew nothing about it's significance either. It is such a beautiful location too. But it's kind of fun to stop off at film locations when you're around but I've never gone out of my way to see them. Like when I was on the Oregon coast in Astoria and I revisited The Goondocks, and the locations from Kindergarten Cop, but they where just around I didn't know about them until I was actually there. Of all the locations and places in Washington and Oregon the one place I've always wanted to stop by but have as of now still haven't are the gravestones of Bruce and Brandon Lee in Seattle.

I'm somewhere around halfway through season 2, but i find myself having a hard time watching more than one episode every few days. Thought the first season was great and watched it in about a day and a half, but season 2 is just very hard to deal with. The first season was strange yes, but the second is so absurd it's just hard to enjoy. Between
[Show spoiler]demonic possession, really Bob, really ? Heroin withdrawals which are apparently about as rough as seasonal allergies, a guy with hearing problems who feels the need to scream at everybody (I know it's you Lynch) and I think Andy and Lucy both got even dumber, the Catherine as a japanese businessman storyline, and Catherine's brother who ALSO faked his death storyline, Laura's doppleganger cousin, and it goes on and on and that's only halfway through the season, but oh yeah how can I forget Nadine's superhuman strength and teenage amnesia,
wow......I just find the absurdity so hard to deal with, which is a real disappointment.

Two more things to add to the too absurd to enjoy, Leo as a fake vegetable and David Duchovny in drag...........
