Antoine Fuqua is an okay director, so I'm not too excited about the fact that he's directing this flick. His movies are entertaining, but apart from Training Day none of them has been great, and what makes Training Day great is Denzel's performance but not Fuqua's directing skills.

Paramount Taps Chris Evans, Antoine Fuqua For Tentpole ‘Infinite’



Paramount Pictures is negotiating with Chris Evans to star for director Antoine Fuqua in Infinite, an adaptation of the D. Eric Maikranz novel The Reincarnationist Papers. The film is being produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian at Par-based Di Bonaventura Pictures, and John Zaozirny. Rafi Crofn is exec producer.

The novel revolves around Evan Michaels, a man who was haunted by memories of two past lives and stumbles upon a centuries-old secret society of similar individuals who make up the Cognomina, a secret society of people who possess total recall of their past lives and whose members have been agents of change throughout history. He seeks to join their ranks.

Mark Wahlberg is reportedly in discussions to replace Chris Evans in Antoine Fuqua’s Infinite. Paramount has set an August 7 2020 release date for the action movie.

Variety reports that Evans couldn’t commit to the project due to scheduling issues.

I actually think Mark Wahlberg is an underrated actor. He has some great performances. He just does a lot of the same generic stuff. I recently watched 2 Guns and he is flat out great in that IMHO and steals the film. Underrated flick too btw. His performance as Dirk Diggler in Boogie Nights is one of the best transformations I've ever seen. I don't see Wahlberg at all when I watch that film. He stole every scene he was in for The Departed as well. He was also creepily effective in Fear and let's not forget his great performance as a junkie in The Basketball Diaries too.
