Default MTV's Celebrity Deathmatch Revival

“Let’s get it on!” MTV Studios is reviving its stop-motion animation series Celebrity Deathmatch with Ice Cube on board to star in and executive produce, Variety has confirmed.

Celebrity Deathmatch originally aired on MTV between 1998-2001. The bloody animation featured parodies of various celebrities as they engaged in brutal, no-holds-barred wrestling matches where the first to die was the loser. The original series starred the voices of Mills Lane, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Debbie Matenopoulous. The show returned for two seasons in 2006 and 2007.

“Happy to once again be working with Viacom and MTV on a fan favorite like Celebrity Deathmatch and to continue our success together,” said Ice Cube.

“We’re excited to grow our partnership with Ice Cube and Cube Vision to reimagine this fan favorite,” added Chris McCarthy, president of MTV, VH1, and CMT. “Deathmatch was the meme before memes, remains a hot topic on social media and will be a smart, funny way to tackle the over-the-top rhetoric of today’s pop culture where it belongs – in the wrestling ring.”

Series creator Eric Fogel will executive produce alongside Cube, Jeff Kwatinetz of Cube Vision, and co-executive producer Ben Hurwitz. The series will feature weekly installments for an SVOD or network partner in 2019.
This was one of my favorites back in the day, I'm excited for this! Let's get it on!

Ehh how about reviving music videos first than Beavis and Butthead bring it back again and bring back Liquid TV miss those odd anime such as Aeon Flux.

Still this will not get me to tune in to MTV as much as I enjoyed Celebrity Deathmatch MTV is like SyFy (originally SciFi) Networks everyone wanted added to their cable still remember the network you called for music videos to play The Box than MTV bought them out than came MTV 2 which was probably the best for 24/7 music videos of all sorts and now not sure what MTV 2 is all about other than just old random sitcoms.

I wish MTV would listen to their long time fans not sure who watches Teen Mom and thinks that is a cool show needs serious help.

If they keep the blood and the body dilaceration intact i would love to see Nicky Minaj ass being separated from her body with blood coming out of it. Tons of blood. The Shining elevator style...

I'd rather see Daria make a comeback but Celebrity Deathmatch is still a thousand times better than anything else they have on that channel these days.
