Giant Behemoth 1958 Blu-Ray:

As in his classic The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms, director Eugene Lourie plunges us into a thrilling stomping ground, unleashing another Thunder Lizard to stomp on everything in sight. Alarming levels of radiation have infused the water, plants and skies, and a radiated paleosaurus rises from the ocean depths. In its path: London. In its arsenal: a strength to topple buildings (King Kong's Willis O'Brien contributes rampaging stop-motion effects), a stride that flattens cars, a flesh-searing radioactive ray and a ticked-off attitude. Left in ruins on land, humankind takes the fight to the beast's undersea realm, where a two-man submarine crew must ensure the torpedo they fire is dead-on. The first chance is all anyone gets with The Giant Behemoth.

Actors: Gene Evans; Andre Morell; John Turner

This actually reminds me that back in October I was surfing through a horror mag at Barnes & Noble (possibly Rue Morgue) and there was a Warner Archive ad promoting this and Frankenstein 1970. Perhaps Frankenstein isn't too far behind then

In terms of notable Warner-owned 50s sci-fi/horror is there much else for Warner Archive/Scream to put out aside from these?

Phantom of the Rue Morgue
The Disembodied
Curse of Frankenstein
Frankenstein 1970
Macabre

I imagine we'll see at least a couple of these in 2019, probably Curse and Macabre.

Not just a Behemoth, a Giant Behemoth. Talk about overkill

I'd love The Phantom Of The Rue Morgue, it's such a fun film, but unfortunately it's 3D (which I'm not interested in) & Warner seems to have given up on old 3D films, & they'd never hear the end of it if they put it out in just 2D.

Too bad Noirfan is gone, his thread on 50s sci-fi would have had soooo much activity the last few months, especially the last week or two!

Edit: WOW, just looked at this post, my phone had autocorrected sci-fi to six-if

The original British version, Behemoth The Sea Monster, is streaming on Amazon. It's not HD or widescreen, but it looks ok. It also runs a little over an hour.

Is that won any different than this one? Are there more scenes?

The British title Behemoth the Sea Monster did not suffer from the same overkill, but you know us Americans. . . American producer to marketing person: "Behemoth?!? That's it?? Egads man, make it bigger!"

Marketing man: "OK Sir, about The Giant Behemoth?

Producer: "NOW you're talking! Now about this The Colossal Man movie. . ."

This is one release I'm hoping they drop one of the DVD extras. It has what, up until the emergence of Chris Alexander, was widely reviled as the worst audio commentary ever, with Dennis Muren and Phil Tippett, who had no connection with that film and clearly don't think much of it, adding nothing but their derision. It's stunningly bad and remarkably uninformative, as if either man had done any research into the film or even bothered to watch it before recording it, even making mistakes about things that are happening on screen and going off on wild tangents about other movies. It's really just insulting, and it's not as if Obie didn't have to put up with enough insults while he was alive.

Warner Archive on twitter says this info is erroneous. Not sure if that means its not coming on that day or not actually coming at all.
