As has been pointed before, it makes total sense to nominate it. It's still one of the most critically acclaimed films of the year overall (and certainly one of the most acclaimed MCU films ever, if not the most), it was the biggest box-office story of the year in the U.S. (one of the biggest ever, actually), and it resonates with people who champion stuff like "inclusion" and "diversity". It checks all the boxes. It'll make even more sense for industry awards such as the Oscars to nominate it.

At least Justice League and Green Lantern felt original. In my head, I was singing “Hakuna Matata” during parts of the Black Panther movie. I literally could not believe how similar the movie was to The Lion King. At one point, I was hoping to see Timon and Pumbaa pop up to provide narration.

King dies, son is up to throne. Family member temporary gets rid of the son and takes the throne. Then turns the country into a hell hole . Son comes back to fight and wins
