Default F.E.A.R 2 and Resident Evil 5 Demo User Rating Poll

What are your thoughts on these 2 demos so far.

I find them to be exactly the same old stuff as the previous versions. I definately aint buying FEAR for it's 2 horror moments like in the first game and wont buy Resident Evil 5 if there's no night time real horror gameplay in it or if it gets a rating of less than 8 on Metacritic.

Resident Evil 5 was fairly good, except a few minor complaints (i.e. controls, running, knife attack, not being able to move while aiming, and the inventory screen). Plus, to me, it seemed a little grainy during the cutscenes. Though I really did enjoy the demo. F.E.A.R. 2 was decent too. Not as good as RE5, IMO.

I was decepointed with RE5... i mean it looks fine and all but for a game that is been talked about for so many months i was expecting more. I kinda feel something is missing. But i can't forget it is only a demo so...
fear 2 looks pretty much the same to me ( fear 1 ). new atmosphere cool but overall is the same, with more blood

I thought the resident evil 5 demo was absolutely horrible! controls are just bad, cant walk while shooting! ran out of ammo every 2 seconds and the big guys i found hard to kill. maybe its me with the killing of zombies, but the controls were just bad!

i didn't care for either demos. the camera and controls in RE5 are weird, and i thought the gameplay was cheesy. graphics were pretty clean, though. the characters seemed to be modeled well...especially the chick.

RE5 feels like a RE4 expansion pack in HD.
Not going anywhere near F.E.A.R 2. Didn't like the first one. Felt extremely repetative.

Not played either yet (spending all my time on R2 co-op), but they are on my PS3 ready and waiting.

Res 5 was a complete let down. If they want to make into an action game I understand, but by doing that it has to be moved into the modern ages. I want to run and shoot at the same time. I want to be able to walk backwards, I want to not have a stupid freaking run button, both consoles have got analogue control and a run button is completely superfluous.

Capcom messed up big time with this game, and it is a real shame because I have been looking forward to it quite a bit, oh well, I'll just have to play Killzone 2 instead.

The only problem with the RE 5 demo is pretty obvious. The controls felt like a PS1 game. For gods sake Capcom, is there a way of making the game control right without spoiling the horror element? As for FEAR 2, I was hoping for an online demo, but it never came to be.

i was really disappointed in the RE5 demo. im new to the series, and i had high expectations after everything ive heard, but i just hated the control system. i didn't like how slow and unreactive the movement was, or how much effort it took just to do something. the camera angle was hard to get use to. the whole thing just played slow. now i know that its just a demo, but i am very skeptical of the game now and will for sure wait awhile to see how it is.

the fear 2 demo was ok, but it didn't sell me on anything. if it gets stellar reviews, and i hear good things on this board, then ill maybe check it out.

so basically, neither demo did its job on selling the product to me. RE5 may have actually done the opposite, as i was planning on picking it up. looks like ill be hanging with max, just playing Killzone 2 all day and all night

Plus the vibe that i got off it. I still like it, but it doesn't have that "survival" feel to it anymore. Dead Space has the crown at the moment

The controls on RE5 are a piece of ****. I tried all the versions and it got more confusing as time went along.

I never had any problem with RE4 on the GC pad. I was kickin ass in 2 minutes on that game. In RE5 I feel more scared of knowing what to do with the stupid joypad.

The fact is, without the inventory taking you out of the game you don't have time to do anything except run run run. Which is ok as long as you feel in control.

edit. Just played RE4 on Cube since I still have it. To my surprise you can't aim and move at the same time. But, and its a big but. It controls beautifully. I'm doing u-turns, kickin ass all over the place. It just doesn't suit the PS3 pad i'm afraid.

Could better from better analog tuning (finished game has a good 3months+ extra polish to go in) but some of it may just be to give Chris a different, 'hulkier' feeling.
