After belonging to these forums and just giving my opinion based on what I've heard I can actually base the stuff I write on my on experiences. I picked up a 60 gig PS3 on British Columbia Day (BC Day) 06,07 Better Cinema Day. I picked it up primarly for watching movies got that Warner, Toshiba, Universal . Set up was a breaze I have the video via HDMI and the audio via optical. I was watching Casino Royal in DD 5.1 and switched it to PCM, even though it's 2ch (optical) my tuner does Pro Logic II encoding it honestly sounds over 100X better. I did not notice any difference in the strictly diolog parts but in the action scenes holy insert prefered word here.

I have a banding problem I think though? I have no idea what the actual name of the problem but banding makes sence to me. In the 2 BD I have watched so far there are sometimes bands that are different coloured than the surrounding area of the picture. I have not done any firm wire updates yet. I have no idea how to do it, because my PS3 is down stairs and my internet access is up stairs. I was glad I did not get the PS3 last Monday because I had my upper right wisdom tooth out and it hurt to smile that's all I have been doing for the last 2 days. I am almost debating whether to paint a big Joker grin on my face so I wont have to smile it will just be there.

Default Don't need Direct Internet

You don't need internet access directly to your PS3 for firmware updates.

You can download onto a USB Memory Stick. Instructions should be located on http://www.us.playstation.com/PS3/Ne...pc_update.html
