Here's the fact. A Mac can do EVERYTHING a PC can. This is a FACT. Ever heard of boot camp? Look at my initial post and claim. I clearly said "Mac", and not "Mosx". Your quote basically says a MAC can do anything a PC can.......as long as it is running Windows XP of Vista either by bootcamp or a virtual machine.

do you understand the logic in that? You are admitting that the MAC hardware/OS can't do everything PC's can, if it doesn't have Windows on it.

I don't HATE MACS, or MAC users (like i've said a billion times, I use to use them myself), and I happen to believe that Final Cut Studio Pro is one of the absolute best video editors (1200$ i believe). but, I can use Sony Vegas 8 Pro on my PC, and I can edit all the HD content I want, I find Vegas comparable to Final Cut Pro.

Macintosh = Windows, OSX, Linux.

Are you are trying to push your initiative by saying "Windows" does more? Guess what? Windows is something we call and Operating System. You need to learn more about hardware and software before posting here. Noted above, the Macintosh does more than the PC does. I am still waiting for an educated response from you. Until then, I will go open my cider port of Half-Life 2 on OSX.

The WHOLE POINT of this argument, is why purchase an APPLE brand machine for a 1200+ dollars, when I can buy a PC (gateway, hp, sony etc) machine for half the price that has comparable specs (and will even play blurays)? Especially if you're going to put Windows on the APPLE machine anyway?? seems like a waste of money.

Corrections:

PC = Windows, Linux, OSX (Yes, you can run leopard on intel machines through virtual machines, i've done it - and it's only 1 way to do it)

MAC = OSX, Linux, Windows

Also, Yes, honestly, Windows has more features and capabilites than the Apple's OS. Name 1 thing apple can do that windows cannot. (without the use of running bootcamp or a virtual machine using linux or windows, that degrades the whole point of the argument)

I haven't heard 1 response from ANYBODY on something MACS can do that Windows cannot... i'm waiting....

No OSX will not do EVERYTHING Windows will do.. I can't write to an NTFS formatted drive with OSX, so i use Fusion and XP for that, i also can't use Windows programs with OSX. I also can't read a OSX formatted drive with Windows XP, let alone write to it, nor can I use any of my Mac programs on XP. I do 95% of what I want to do using OSX and Mac programs. My Mac also won't wash my dishes, do my laundry, and other stuff. But if we want to compare what is more useful to me: Mac OSX or Windows XP, OSX by far! I don't know anyone who uses a Mac with Windows on it, and uses the Windows stuff more than their Mac stuff. Just saves you from having to buy another computer.

I'm happy to hear that you use OSX more on your !!!MAC!!! . I was the opposite, on my iMac I had to end up using Vista more... so that's why i sold the machine entirely and got a new desktop instead.

I've always had a PC, but i thought i'd try an Apple for a bit. I got 1000$ for it after a year of use, when i paid 1299$. Seemed like a good deal for me. I got a new Gateway for 715$, and it does everything the MAC did, and i had about 300 bucks left to buy some additional addons for it, i got a bluray burner/reader drive, and a Ram upgrade.

let's end this conflict! Both OS's have great features to them, i've always admitted it. this fight started with bluray playback, and having to run windows on the MAC for such a reason.

i'm tired...
