With the year 2019 coming in a few days from now, I figure I go re-visit some of the best & worst films I've seen this year. Figure I do something a little bit different around here by making this interesting but kinda fun thread.

The House That Jack Built (Dillion and Ganz is incredible, phenomenal ending, but Lars using his work in this is corny)
Bad Times at the El Royale (Really solid original thriller with excellent performances, direction and story. A tad long)
You Were Never Really Here (Kind of drags a bit, but Phoenix, Ramsay's direction, script and Greenwood's score are all brilliant. Rewatch soon)
The Miseducation of Cameron Post (Angering, yet compelling gay camp drama. Great performances)
Revenge (Kickass score and performance from Matilda Lutz)
Bumblebee (Derivative and generic, but ultimately sweet and fun. Stenfield and Bee's dynamic is great)

Skyscraper (Just plain dumb and forgettable, Campbell was dope)
Peppermint (Generic, cliched and predictable, Garner is solid at least)
Venom (Only watch for Hardy, and the Brock/Venom scenes, rest is average)
The Hurricane Heist (Funny bad, plain bad and eh)
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (A disappointment)

I really enjoyed the Cloverfield Paradox.

I’m just going with theatrical viewings. I could easily list 30 movies for best. JW:FK made the best list because the IMAX 3D presentation was so impressive and it’s also one of my favorite franchises. Same goes for Infinity War. I thought it was a very good movie, but it might not make my list without the awesome theatrical experience (I watched it 3 times in IMAX 3D).

I'm honestly surprised I was the first to list Roma. I assume most just haven't seen it yet. In my opinion, it's far and away the best movie I've seen this year.
