While I don't think The Darkest Hour is one of the greatest movies ever, it does have some bad things about such as the acting at time. But i thought it was an entertaining movie and not nearly as bad as critics made it out to be, and the 3D on this I thought was really good. The people incinerating into dust looked even better in 3D seeing those particles flying at you.

As someone with a Dredd av, did you think Olivia Thirlby did a good job in Darkest Hour? I thought she was OK in it, but amazing in Dredd.
Slightly of note is that i believe the new Robocop, Joel Kinnaman is in Darkest Hour as the Russian friend (someone please correct me if i'm wrong). |

no you're right Joel Kinnaman the same guy from The this movie & the tv show The Killing, is playing the new Robocop. Sucks it's not gonna come out this year like it was suppose to, they're pushing it back to 2014. Which I think they're planning on doing a 3D conversion for it also. |

Finally got to see Darkest Hour 3D a few months back. The 3D was good, except for that one shot where after the club gets attacked, they're in the background talking in the basement, and the shot is static on them. The 3D was converted for that shot it seems, and looked reversed actually. Otherwise, no big deal. The movie was mildly interesting so I'll have to watch it again for the 3D.

Decided to grab one that trickled through Amazon's stock at the $7.50 price-point, and I thought the native 3D was great. Plenty of enveloping vistas, lots of organic depth; a real treat in our conversion-only present. They don't make them like this anymore.

Finally saw this and thought it was just okay. The 3D was nice. Not crazy good but nice. It wouldn't surprise me if they actually used 3D cameras. The movie was pretty bad weighed down by atrocious acting and action scenes. CGI was decent. If you are on a mission to consume as many 3D movies as possible like me, it's worth watching if you can get ahold of it for like $5 like I did. Otherwise, wait until you can or skip as you aren't really missing much.

It's been about 5+ years since I've watched Darkest Hour 3D. It's kind of a post apocalyptic survival movie where the few survivors are always on the run, hiding out from the invisible creature aliens, trying to remain unseen until they find a solution. The 3D could've been a lot more daring from what I remember. Even so, this mostly filmed 3D movie set in Russia I believe, is a better 3D experience than the very mild 3D conversion of Stalingrad 3D.
Here's a trailer for the film, Darkest Hour: And a trailer for the movie in the thread, The Darkest Hour 3D. ![]() |

I've watched it about 3 times, including mid last year on the projector, and I enjoy the story, and the 3D.
