Default Beverly Hills Chihuahua smooths his way to Blu-ray on March 3rd

Starring: Jaime Lee Curtis, Drew Barrymore

Preorder Link

Quote:
Beverly Hills Chihuahua finds director Raja Gosnell back on the talking-dog beat (following his live-action Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleased), this time in an ambitious, tongue-in-cheek comedy with a fun cast of onscreen and vocal actors. Piper Perabo plays Rachel, niece of a Beverly Hills eccentric (Jamie Lee Curtis) who spends much of her fortune pampering Chloe (voiced by Drew Barrymore), a spoiled Chihuahua used to pacing through this world with booties on her paws. Chloe gets dog-napped while Rachel takes a vacation in Mexico, and finds protection from a misfit German Shepherd named Delgado (Andy Garcia), who has a painful secret in his past. The two get into and out of a lot of scrapes, trying to stay ahead of a vicious dog (Edward James Olmos) working for the head of an illegal dogfight gambling syndicate. Computer effects turn the film's many four-legged characters into talking critters capable of leaping onto train boxcars and leading the heroine into the Indiana Jones-like ancestral home of the chihuahua breed. The comedy is crisp and kid-friendly, the story of Chloe rise out of silliness into canine authenticity, plus the film's surprising ambitiousness, are all very winning. --Tom Keogh source:Amazon

Thumbs up Beverly Hills Chihuahua

This was ****ing awesome

I had no desire to watch this, but I bought it for my mom (she has like 5 chihuahua's) and it was hilarious.

Lot's of neat special features and in true disney fashion, great PQ and the audio was good. What I specially liked is that the soundtrack was really strong and the dialogue was the main focus : loud and clear.

I would recommend this for all with kids.
Anyone else buying?

I'm buying it. I watched the trailer on the HSM1 disc and thought it looked hysterical. I happen to have a chihuahua mutt though.

I just watched this and it is... Well, obviously a movie that they didn't care how bad it is, because kids under 12 will like it anyway, and parents will have something to shut them up with.

Fortunately, there ARE movies out there that kids can like that are actually good. Too bad most parents just don't care.

Personally, I could barely watch it, didn't even feel like a movie, more or less a chihuahua fashion show. I definitely know that kids will love it and anyone who loves Chihuahuas (my boss included).

For me, it's a pass

Bleh... I hate the trailer for this so much. I don't even like it when any of my Blu's has it play before the movie...

Last I heard he bit or tried to bite someone so they yanked him from doing promoting and commercials for them anymore.

Default I thought Beverly Hills Chihuahua was terrible!

Only redeeming factor was my wife and daughters enjoyed the film which made for great family time!

What did you think?

My friend gave me a $10 off Blu Ray coupon that she got in the standard DVD she got for her son,she had no interest in the Blu Ray version so she gave it to me since she knows I'm a Blu afficianado, hopefully someone will have this for like 19.99 before 4/30/09,the expiration date on the coup! 10 bucks + tax would be a good price for this!

My girlfriend, a grown adult, watches the Disney Channel shows like Suite Life, Hanna Montana, etc. so I thought she would like Beverly Hills Chihuahua. I knew I owuld hate it but when I turned to see her reaction after a few minutes she hated it more than me. But we watched the whole thing, just to humor it.

I appoligized to all of my home theater electronics and most importantly my eyes and ears for putting them through such a painful experience! Lol.
