Yes, I'm also the same guy who did the commentary for The Haunted on The Ghost of Sierra de Cobre (Kino) and on Outer Limits Vol 2, plus the same guy who did the color restoration for Kino's release of Seven Chances (1925).

The history of Kongo is really interesting. I assume these are on BD-Rs, correct?

Kongo is not ANYTHING yet, but it will be on BD, NOT BD-R.

Little Orphant Annie is on BD.

Milan is on BD.

I don't like making BD-Rs, because people don't like them. It means people don't take you seriously, so I make stamped BDs from Canada. This means I have to promote the hell out of these releases to sell 1000 of them, which is why I'm here!

(And the Kinos are on regular BD as far as I know, but I haven't seen them yet!)

It would have been understandable if they were BD-R, but that’s awesome.

Hello Erik,

I thoroughly enjoyed Little Orphant Annie, brilliant work.

Are there any updates on Ella Cinders? I have the Grapevine disc but the quality is rather poor.

I'm just going through a second 16mm print and we have 3 more. I'm having them scanned now. With some luck, there will be a transfer that will look much better than Annie did. The prints are a little soft and the film does not survive in 35mm, but multiple prints means picking the best shots.

Unless I get a ton of pre-orders, I will have to wait on this until King of the Kongo is finished because I don't have enough time to do both at once. I would have to hire some assistants to help me, and that's hard...

The good news is that we've located the original script of the film and the original score for the film, plus stills of the 20 minutes that have been cut from all surviving prints, so we can probably come up with a long reconstruction has most of the scenes and the entire score intact...

All we need is time and $!

Eric

Brilliant news, thanks.

Is there a pre-order link? I didn't see one on Amazon...

Man, I can't WAIT for this reconstruction! Excellent Colleen Moore romantic comedy, with great cameo by Harry Langdon as himself!

There is not a preorder link. I have no idea when this would ship yet, so be patient. I don't even have a preorder date for Kongo. I'm only one guy, so be patient.

Updates:
Ella Cinders ON HOLD waiting for me to have enough $ to scan.

King of the Kongo IN PROGRESS but is a mess. Here's one chapter to show what's going on:

Possibly coming after Kongo:
Ella
Rocky Jones LOST PILOT
2-3 others.

Again, I'm just one guy, so it takes time for me to get these done! I'm hoping Kongo by end of year. That's my goal. Help keep me going my ordering stuff on http://www.drfilm.net/amazon !

Hey, guys, I'm still alive and still busting my butt on the mess that is King of the Kongo. If you'd like to help get it done (and basically pre-order a disc), have a look:
