I think what Twitch is trying to find out is why is everyone choosing polk when there are tons of other brands/models for the same price? What is drawing you guys to polk over these other brands? What makes polk special when we find them mediocre at best? Is it because its the first/only speaker you hear because they are so widely distributed? Do you really find them the best value? Are they marked up so high that when you see them on amazon you think 20% off of them is a good deal?

well those b&w will not touch my lsi15's, cant speak for the other speakers as iv never heard them. Its obvious to me though that you havn't heard the polk lsi series so i dont know what makes you think the speakers you lised are so much better, the lsi15's are amazing to say the least. I demoed the martin logan source which is about 500 bucks more for the pair and felt that the lsi was an overall better speaker.

The source is a pretty shitty speaker though, I would have picked the polks over them too

to each his own i guess. i personally love my new polks. they are great speakers for the money, i would have loved them just the same had i paid full price for them.

At the end of the day it comes down to personal preference when it comes to speakers.....just because one person does not like they way they sound, that does not mean they sound bad to the next person!

if you don't like them then stay away and buy your Martin Logan, B&W's, Klipsch or whatever brand it is and just leave the polks alone if you hate them so much

I do theatre installs all day and have heard almost every speaker out there, and i'm not saying polk's don't sound good i am just trying to say that there are better sounding speakers than Polk for the same price.

I agree with that and respect what you are saying, in not trying to knock polk down, just figure out what everyone sees in them. I sold them for three years, and I have listened to tons of them, I just dont see what you guys see in them maybe.

i would recomend that you do the same with the polks. I will say that polks subwoofers are mediocre and overpriced (i learned that the hard way) but their speakers are in no way over priced, and the lsi are some of the best speakers i have ever heard in that price range.

Once again i'm not saying i hate polk, i'm just getting tired of people posting on how good they are and pushing people on this site into buying them without demoing other brands. don't buy speakers online before you hear them just because someone told you how good they are, go and listen to them and judge for yourself.

The funny thing is that you just admitted they are mediocre at best, yet you buy their speaker with a mediocre sub built into to it. Why not save the money, get the LSi9, which has the best reviews of them all, and get a better sub.

its not a powered subwoofer and is no way mediocre. Go give them a listen and try and tell me otherwise

I paid $520 total shipped for my Monitors 70, CS2 center and a free sub PSW10 (I know, but it was free). I spent months looking for the best deal, so far I seriously doubt you can get more for you buck. I'm happy with my set up, even though I still need a good sub.

but thats subjectional...they might sound good to you but others might like the sound of polk...so to say one is better than the other based off of personal opinion is not right.

i might like green and you might like red, but for me to say green is better than red because that's what i like is not a fair comparison

Brett, great point about it being subjectional. I wasnt trying to get into arguments with anyone, I am done with this thread because its getting too heated on a subjectional debate. Have a great afternoon everyone.
