HDMI.....24awg VS. 22awg????

Hello, im doing 2 HDMI runs for a customer....& was thinking of this 24AWG ver 1.3 http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2 or this 22AWG Non 1.3 http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

i will be doing 2 of these....1 30' & 1 35'.........i did notice the 24 awg is flat & 22 is round & thick......please help thanks.

You will want to go with something rated for long runs. 22 gauge would probably be better.

I think the 1.2a spec may be a misprint because TrueHD and DTS-HD are not supported until 1.3a. I would contact Monoprice to confirm.

There is no such thing as 1.2 or 1.3 cable. Cables are not rated that way. If a cable is CL2 rated, it means it is certified. If it is not CL2 rated, it does not necessarily mean that it is a bad cable. It simply means that it is not rated. Both cables are good.

The 22 gauge cable is for in-wall installation. It is very thick and inflexible. If it accidentally pops out of the HDMI input of your equipment, it can damage it. It happended to me. As I was adjusting my projector, it did come out and completely messed up the pins on the HDMI input of the projector. I had to send my projector to Epson. They were nice enough to send me a new one and I bought a more flexible VasterCable from ebay.

Bigger gauge means less losses which is more of a concern with longer runs. Go with 22AWG

You will never notice the difference unless your running 100' and if you run that length you will need HDMI amplifier to boost the signal and still won't notice the difference.
