Default Thick or Thin - It's a matter of 'Case'!

Being a die-hard Blu-Ray collector and fan here in the UK I decided that I would only purchase the U.S. releases as they are better quality and I prefere the thinner cases. I also can't stand how some of the UK tv-show blu-rays have been packaged: Prison Break and Smallville for instance being released as 2 thick cases housed inside a flimsy cardboard outerbox. I prefere all future tv shows on blu to be released similar to Lost season 4 and Damages in the 'multi-flip' single cases. The whole season of Firefly was released in a thin U.S. style case so why can't we be treated as such. It would be interesting to see what others collectors think of the packaging?

I've got probably 10 UK imports and another 5 or so on the way and while I prefer the thinner US Blu-ray cases, the UK ones don't bother me too much. They seem to be about the thickness of a PS3 case.

+1 I agree there are quite a few US releases that are not as good as they're import cousins.

I hate US cases, they're cheaply made rubbish. The covers are cheap crap as well 99% of the time and not even bloody cut straight.

i im going to agree with Sky Cap here , iv'e had a alot of trouble with the cases that sony uses in the US they are thin cases with a very weak lock in item for the disc that is easy to break , im much more happy with the thicker cases used for most region b releases .

How can you say American releases are better?

the U'S cases are thin therefore can have a lot more storage so they come in handy for that, being in Aust I mostly get the thick ones or UK ones because it's cheaper with the dollar right now.

Also those thin ones I can't stand the funny shaped thing on the left hand side patten they have inside the case. you can still fit a US thing sleeve in a thick one just means more space on the sides provided the spine is all one colour
