Disney is making a live action version of every animated film they own, so this doesn't surprise me. It also doesn't mean I have to see it.

After the abuse allegations, Burton has stated he never wanted to work with Depp again. It was from some interview on YouTube he did 3 years ago. Wish I could find it.

I'm a MEGA fan of NBX, and even I gotta say- it doesn't sound like a good idea. The original was kind of a perfect storm of parts to make it a cult classic (I'd even argue against the "cult" part of it now, given its mainstream success after). The voice actors, the juuuuust outlandish enough designs (that I'm not sure would translate that well to "live action"), etc. Sometimes it's okay to let classics lie.

That said, I too wouldn't necessarily turn down Jack Black as Oogie. As long as he keeps it fairly grounded and sinister, he could actually be a good choice.

Doug Jones literally tweeted his interest in playing Jack. Nothing against LMM but he’s not lanky enough.

Well they did try it as a musical. That’s Doug Jones from the Del Toro films playing Jack. If they do it, I would like a hybrid live action with cgi characters

The description for the video says Matthew Patrick Davis plays Jack, not Doug Jones.
