Default Dr. Giggles German release

I didn't see a thread on this movie and was wondering if the German release has the same transfer as the U.S. release that came with Otis?

Better pq on the German BD plus you can choose between the 1.78:1 and 2.35:1 version.

Comparison on caps-a-holic:
https://caps-a-holic.com/c_list.php?c=3032

But watch out:
Only the "X-Cess" releases are uncut; the one from "Centurio/Alive" is censored.

Thank you! The one I am looking to buy is the X-Cess version.

Yeah, that option is great indeed!

I love that about the aspect ratio. The German SOMETIMES THEY COME BACK also offered it, and it was most welcome because it was a TV movie released theatrically overseas, and the 2.35 framing really looked too tight.

I wish more Super 35 movies on Blu offered the 1.78 option, usually it means you get the entire frame that was filmed.

Is that true? Which release from THESE, or is it the same press in all of those?

Can't say for others, but the Koch release lets you chose between 1.78:1 or 2.35:1 before movie start.

Yep that's the one. Definitely recommend it, plus it's cheap too (or has been if you bundle it in a sale).

I have the X-Cess version with the Lenticular 3D cover, and it does not let you choose between 1:78:1 and 2:35:1. It's in 1:78:1 with an option for 5.1 English audio, and if you go to the bonus material, it offers a 1:33:1 full frame version with English 2.0 audio. Not sure why anyone would want to watch an old full frame version on a widescreen television.

The 2.35:1 version is an easter egg on the disc. You'll have to go to "Bonusmaterial", move the cursor to "Promo-Teaser" and then push left which will make a scalpel appear just below the "Dr. Giggles" title. Click OK/Enter on the remote and the 2.35:1 version will start. Remember to switch to English audio with the remote as it is the German dub by default.

Awesome. Thanks! But dang, that's a lot of cuts of the film on a single disc.
