Default Doom Patrol (DC Universe)

Quote:
Doom Patrol, the DC Universe original series that brings the classic superteam to live action for the first time (not counting their debut on Titans), came out of the gate swinging with a new holiday teaser and a series of distinct character posters. And if these initial glimpses are anything like what we can expect when the series debuts on February 15, 2019, then strap in. We’re in for a wild, weird, wonderful time.

The 30-second teaser takes the form of a holiday photo shoot—something that even superpowers can’t make any easier, it seems. It’s short and gives us no clue as to the plot of the series, but combined with the Doom Patrol’s Titans episode, allows us to get a sense of much of the team's personality. Elasti-Girl has a flair for the dramatic and the domestic, Negative Man goes with the flow, Crazy Jane is sarcastic and cynical (or at least, this personality is), Robotman just wants to fit in. The big mysteries are Cyborg—who we’re seeing for the first time—and the Chief, who will be played by Timothy Dalton on the series after Bruno Bichir originated the role on Titans. We’ll have to see more of them to start getting a sense of what they add to this colorful, bizarre pastiche of personalities.

At Rotten so far Doom Patrol stands at 89% https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/doom_patrol

Damn wish DC streaming service was available on Xbox One hopefully it gets a 4K Blu-ray release I really hate all this exclusive streaming TV Shows or Movies.

I agree. Cyborg doesn't look very good. I haven't watched Titans yet but I think I will watch Doom Patrol and see if I like it.

They put Cyborg in everything but Titans.

Kind of wish Joivan Wade was playing Josh, and they had Dorothy Spinner in there, but they might be saving her and Danny the Street for season two or later.

I have no idea why Cyborg is in this. He has absolutely no Doom Patrol connections at all in the comics.

Does this show and Titans take place in the DC movie universe? Or in the Arrowverse? Or are they their own thing?

The DC movie Universe, the Arrowverse and the DC streaming shows are all separate from each other.

I don’t see the show available yet, I thought it would be there by now

Edit: I just read that the show doesn’t premiere until 9am EST

Watching it now, this is not at all what I expected (particularly from the usually family friendly Brendan Frasier) but at the very least its well acted and Frasier seems to be putting his all into it. I'm amused the narrator breaking the fourth wall monologues about the critics hating this show while apparently its being well received on Rotten Tomatoes.

Update: Just finished it, already off to a better start than Titans. I might actually renew my subscription to watch more of this.

I think he's going to say "look at me I'm a half dead half science experiment guy and I'm killing it with the Justice League so you guys can get out there and be heroes too!"

Based upon Titans I would assume that after the season concludes airing around May 31 assuming one episode a week and no breaks. It was then added to netflix worldwide about a week or two after that so around mid June I would assume it will premiere on netflix.
