Default Games and Movies on the same disc (coming this year)

There's a story about it on the homepage. Any comments?

Movie-based games are almost always garbage, anyway.

These will be expensive. Think about it, games are $60 and blu-ray new releases are like $30. Also, I don't have a big problem with this as long as they also offer the movie on its own without the game and without the higher price tag.

bad idea, especially if its a double sided disc, which i personally hate, one of the reasons i abandoned hd dvd early on before warner joined blu exclusivly

don't games usually come out when the movie is in the theatre? So you would have to wait 4-5 months to play it with the blu-ray?

This was already done on regular DVD on the Xbox with Doom (Doom3 demo) HULK (hulk demo), and I think Riddick. They're not going to be looking so much at packing in new games as packing in small PSN style games or repurposing older titles as bonuses. Demos that can be upgraded to full product could also be popular

I'm thinking it would be priced around $75 for a new release.

I can't see this working with regular movies since most games based on movies are of average quality at best.

I think it would be pretty interesting for sports games.

But why stop at movies, with all that storage space they should include the games soundtrack too.

I don't see how there would be space for a good game and a long movie with lossless audio on the same disk.

ditto. Unless it's just smaller psn type games coming on the disc, count me out.

I'm not buying or going to pay more for BDs with video game versions of the movie!

I'll just rent those BDs that come out with video game versions on disc.

Might be decent for the Ghostbusters release. However, most movie tie in games suck..so...

If the price is the same as a regular game then I don't see the bad to it. About time they give us something extra but I mean it depends on the game and movie and whatnot. I guess we shall see what the future has in store for us on this subject.
