Since it doesn't appear to have a processor connected to it.... they're just "speakers"

All speakers can play "HD sound"

Detailed Description
Our HD Theater 500 is a compact, high-definition 5.1 home theater system that’s simple to set up and use. It consists of five speakers—left, center and right front channels with two rear surrounds—and one powered subwoofer.
It's just the speakers. It's all marketing speak. Here's my favorite quote from that page:

Quote:
It’ll make you fall in love with your favorite music and movies all over again, filling every performance with passion and intrigue.
Sell that copy, baby!

My favorite quote from the description.....
Quote:
Sound accounts for half of the home theater experience, whether you’re watching a movie or sporting event—or even playing a video game. Your TV is only one piece of the puzzle. It’s the audio that drives the action, creates the mood and brings your video content to life.
So true......

Sounds like Bose marketing to me. Are you sure you didn't pull those quotes from the Bose website? Those were some of the selling points we were told to use when I worked at one of their stores for 3 months.

I've seen that before, man the term HD is just being thrown out there by every company who wants to make their product sound cool.

True story...

A customer came into my store and was showing me his "HD sunglasses" that he bought at Wally World.

I tried them on out of curiousity - and they did sharpen everything you saw. Who knows..maybe they exist.

LOL - I missed Driver's post...Hahahha - the guy that came in is a complete dumbass. The glasses were cool though - they weren't the wrap arounds. :P
