I was thinking the same thing. Was the

version only on the VCD, or did it ever come out on DVD somewhere down the line?

The transfer on the new blu ray is good. True HD as with all the other Mei Ah sourced discs. Some scenes look a little waxy but generally there's a good amount of detail and the colours really stand out. It's a substantial upgrade from the previously remastered Mei Ah DVD.

Now regarding the version presented here on this Blu Ray... I haven't watched it all the way through yet and and have just scanned the disc - it seems like it's another slightly different version that's not been presented on any previous release. The ending is the "producer" version however the music that plays over the final few minutes which continues over the end credits is completely different to any of the previous versions. The music is from the record that plays in the "haunted house" scene earlier on in the film. Personally I prefer the other version but it's not a deal breaker.

There's a making of feature which I don't think was any previous disc (at least not the remastered disc). No english subtitles - in Cantonese only. There's also a non remastered rough looking SD trailer.

Overall another good disc from CN Entertainment.

Is anyone able to provide screencaps for this one? I am hearing conflicting info on whether it's actually true HD or just an upscale.
