Default Blu Ray on PS3 - Please help...

I have a PS3 and a 40inch 1080p Samsung LE40A55. It's connected via HDMI. All games run as smooth as you like and any game HD looks stunning. However, when I play a blu ray disc there is a slight flicker, as if it's missing 1 frame consistently every second. I got a replacement PS3 from sony and it's still doing the same. My friend recently got the same setup and I can notice it on his. So that suggests a TV problem. But any games at 1080p run fine (same as 1080p xbox games). The flicker is very minute, some people don't notice it, but as a film lover and an aspiring film maker it's all I can notice now I know it's there. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this might happen?? It's ruining my viewing experience.

Its most evident on tracking type shots, when the camera is stationary it's almost impossible to detect.

I can change the setting on the PS3 to force 24hz off, which makes it smooth, but also seems to lower the visual quality, giving it a slight ghosting effect.

Any insight to why this flicker may be happening would be greatly appreciated! Cheers guys..

I believe Maxpower (moderator) on here mentioned something about Samsung televisions having a 'Game Mode'. Have you tried changing it to that?

Sounds like that particular unit has bad 1080p24 processing. Not much you can do about it except compromise and force 24Hz off. The ghosting effect you're noticing is judder, which is caused by the inverse telecine process that converts 1080p60 into 1080p"24".

I have yeah, didn't change anything...

I have got rid of the frame glitch by forcing 24hrz off and by messing with some of the TV settings the picture looks sharp again, but the judder is still very much there.

One of my HDMI inputs doesnt work so I have an engineer coming out this coming sat (21st) to look at it. I'll ask him about the judder and see what he says about it, and i'll post the result. It seems others around these formus are suffering from a similar problem!
