Question HELP! Amplifier & Receiver Syncing

Hi all,

I am just putting the finishing touches on a home theatre and was hoping I could get some help with my amplifier and receiver syncing. Something tells me what I am looking to do is not possible with these exact two products, but here's to hoping you guys know of a workaround!

Long story short, I would like to purchase a Harmony Ultimate remote to not only control all of my components but also the lighting in the theatre with wifi enabled smart lighting. The only issue is, my amplifier (Outlaw 7125) does not have an IR input to automatically trigger it on when the receiver is turned on. So essentially my harmony remote would be moot since I would have to turn on the amp manually every time I wanted to use the system.

Is there any way around this at all? I am really hoping so because this would be the last touch I need to have this system be completely seamless and intuitive.

Thanks in advance for the help and responses.

dude, your receiver and amp both have 12v triggers, why aren't you using them?

I have indeed confirmed the Outlaw has a 12V trigger. Which input am I looking for on the receiver though? The one that says “IR control”?

damn son, the one that says trigger on it!

I figured you would have "figured" that one out on your own, I sent posted the picture of both your receiver and amp. notice the amp says trigger/12v and the receiver has two inputs under trigger that say 12v and now, notice both say the word TRIGGER?!?

it should use either a mono or stereo 3/8" headphone cable type jack male/male (check the manuals it might specify which) and your in business!

"your killing me smalls!"

I knew I wasn’t losing my mind...the back of my receiver does not look like the photo you have shown. For some reason it is missing the 12V trigger option and only has the control and IR zone options above it. Is it still possible to do this somehow?

Would anyone know a way around this since my receiver is missing the 12V trigger option for some reason?

Would that “Control” jack turn the amplifier on?
Check out the manual maybe?

I've tried plugging into the control jack and no luck, unfortunately.

I have read through the manual and all it mentions is about setting up "zones" but I do not believe this is what I am looking for.

Any other ideas?

Yep. no 12v trigger on that model of receiver. I've looked in the past and never found a commercial unit that you could control with a Harmony remote. I did find this DIY solution though.
