Default Favorite Monty Python Cast Member?

They are all unique in their own ways but I went with Eric Idle.

Eric Idle was always the one who made me laugh the most even when he wasn't really doing anything.

I always liked Gilliam and Idle the most, but I'll go with Gilliam.

Well seeing as I'm related to him in a round about way, I guess I'll go with John Cleese.

Other than him though I'd have to vote for Gilliam. Easily the most under rated member.

its a tough choice, eric idle, michael palin and john cleese are my favorites, but john cleese has had the best carreer with fawlty towers and all the movies he's done.

Chapman - the straight man (irony) or the screeching woman
Palin - man idiot or uptight conservative
Cleese - straightman or captain ridiculous
Gilliam - yeah, he was just kinda there
Jones - screeching woman or mr. indignant

But Idle... the depth and breadth of his characters and caricatures are huge. Eyes bugging out, flashing that toothy stupid grin - or being mr. calm and smarmy, backed up with a VAST array of accents that was never too over the top.

KnowwhotImean? Nudge, nudge. Wink, wink - he asked knowingly...

Definitely Idle.

And apparently is one of two that still is interested in making people laugh.

John Cleese, he always did the funniest ones with such a straight face. He was always hands down my favorite since I started watching them as a wee lad.

Yeah, I just wish they would go back and make a whole new movie. I know they have some scripts up their sleeves that they never used. And uh... it's what Graham would've wanted.

So tough to choose. They gelled so well as a unit. I really can't choose one as the best in the group. So, I'm gonna cheat. I'm voting for Terry Gilliam because I'm a huge fan of his directing career. He's made some of my all time favorite films.

Picking one would be like slapping the others in the face. So I won't do that!

But Monthy Python is easily the best comic ensemble ever!

Following in John's footsteps, it is too difficult to call even though I have been debating this for days. And most definitely they were one of the most talented and funniest troops ever assembled, even if some of the things were "silly".

So, I won't vote.

Rich

I'm glad to see someone finally voted for Palin. I had it down to him and Idle but I went with Idle.
