PS3 controller question - Blu-ray Forum

I was not really sure where to put this so if it needs to be moved thats OK.

Q: I just got my PS3 about three/ four weeks ago and it was working fine. I use mainly to play BD's. Now i put in TMNT and all of the sudden the controller does not work. i can not bring up the menu or anything. Whats wrong? Do I need a firmware update or something?

I had that problem with a disc (I forget which one) but I ended up having to use the up arrow to display the menu and control the disc through that menu. I just figured it was the way the disc was programmed.

It happens to me too while playing mostly. Sometimes the remote just all of a sudden loses connection and you have to press the PS button again. Although this has only happened twice in my 2 months of having a PS3.

I would buy a new controller, because I need one anyway for Madden, but with all those rumors of a vibration SIXAXIS, I should probably wait.

I had a controller stop responding for a few seconds durring a game. But just that one time. I have had the PS3 since Nov 2006. I have had it happen to me on the 360 too.

When a new Sixaxis comes out, I will get that one, but not because my regular ones doesnt work.
