Interesting stats from member BluCollect:
This is a gentlemen's agreement between Universal and Disney. to even use David Dunn's character Universal had to ask Disney for permission to use him. Disney accepted on the condition it be involved in a full sequel if split did well, split did do well and that created Glass. Universal and Disney have been rivals in the theme park and tv businesses for many years. prior to this film all Universal/Disney co-productions were made for TV like with monk, and would never have been at the theatrical level. Universal serviced domestic distribution of Glass for the USA and Canada, because this involved a Touchstone Pictures character and with Touchstone now being closed by The Walt Disney Studios, Disney had to create a one time label specifically for this production. It is the first time in a very long time Disney has had to engage in this practice (since Kids released at the NC-17 level, Disney was uncomfortable doing an NC-17 film so it created a one time label for Miramax's use when that division was still theirs, Shining Excalibur Films). Patrick in Britain is the other for Buena Vista International (the rest of the world outside the USA and Canada for Glass's purposes). The name was only in use really on the Philippines copy of glass as Buena Vista International, all other markets used the Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures name where Disney serviced the distribution of glass except for Japan (Walt Disney Studios was the name in use there, Russia (the joint partnership with Sony), Turkey (United International Pictures), Ukraine (B+H film distribution), Romania (Cineforum), Greece (Feelgood Entertainment), Hungary (Forum Hungary), and Portugal (NOS Audiovisuals) acted for Disney in the last five markets except for Russia. -------------- No show of Dolby Vision could be due to involvement of Disney. |

While I lean to the Regular 4K edition of this, I'm debating between Best Buy's Exclusive and the Regular Edition.
Still waiting on Unbreakable 4K announcement, especially with that deal between Disney and Universal, you'd think Disney would follow through during home media. |

If Disney is going to start catalogue live-action titles, then Maleficent will almost certainly be among the first due to the fact its sequel is out in October. We'll probably get Beauty and the Beast, The Jungle Book, Cinderella and potentially Alice in Wonderland on UHD before they even think of releasing Armageddon.

Just FYI: I was very surprised to see today that Disney Japan are not going to release this in Japan. Only a BD/DVD combo pack will be released on April 24th:
![]() It will be interesting to see if there is a Hong Kong / Korea release, or if Disney opts to only release the UHD in Europe. And yes, Split did receive a Japanese UHD BD release in 2017. |

Ok a few questions...
What's the likelihood of Universal and Disney having different/missing bonus features? Obviously Disney have listed all of their extras already on the slipback, while Universal only list a few and say "And more!", but I've already noticed that Universal's disc includes something called 'Glass Decoded', which is not on Disney's comprehensive list. If - and I say IF - Unbreakable were to have a surprise 4K announcement, would Disney have the right to release a 4K trilogy slipbox in US/Europe, and if so, how likely would they be to use that right? Finally, does anyone have any reason to discourage buying the Italian 4K Steelbook, apparently being released by "Touchstone"? It's a good price and VAT free (unlike Zavvi's identical steel). Based on audio/sub specs on the UK slipback, it seems logical that they'll use the same 4K disc for the UK, France, Germany and Italy. Of those, the Italian one is released earliest. ![]() |

Love unbreakable. Not so much split. Unbreakable is M. Night's best movie.
