Depends on the quality of the DVD transfer.... quality of the Blu-ray Transfer, and price.

The only ones I "KNOW" I'll upgrade, would be the Criterion releases.... I have 300-350 on DVD, and I'm going to "TRY" to get every one they put out on blu. (crossing my fingers)

I plan on replacing ANY and ALL of the Pixar movies as they are released, and most of the classic Disney's. That being said, it would be hard to not replace most catalog titles eventually. Anyone who has seen what they did with Blazing Saddles, 2001, and a lot of the older (20 yrs +) ones make it definitely worth the double dip on most titles. And anyone who says they aren't going to replace LOTR is lying

Same here, and I trade in the old DVD versions at Blockbuster when that happens for a little extra credit.

I hear you. I have a small collection of them, just 10 or so. When I really started getting into them, Blu-ray came along. I still watch a lot of them, a small mom and pop video store has a nice selection of them, and will buy the occasional one at a garage sale. My best find so far was the original Solaris for $5 if I remember right.

As far as replacing my DVD collection, it'll be on a case by case basis. I don't see the need to replace my copy of Van Wilder, But Ichi will be replaced as soon as Amazon sends my copy.
