Default Remote Crazy... Need advice

OK, my Yamaha reciever remote isnt working correctly anymore. The power button doesnt work. Instead of spending $50 to replace it I am thinking of going with a universal Harmony. I am looking for a basic remote that will control my Yamaha reciever (mainly volume), Samsung DLP, Sony Blu Ray 550, and my cable HD DVR. I have a 1.5 year old that loves throwingt things so one that can take a bit of a beating would be nice. There are so many Harmony models my eyes are spinning. I dont want to spend too much but would like to control what I have listed. I also heard some of the universal remotes have a hard time with Cabel DVR boxes. Does anyone experience problems with that. Also, can I switch my inputs on my reciever with the remote from cable to DVD. Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: I found the Harmony 550 for $65 shipped... Will that suite my needs?

550 will more than suite your needs! It's a great remote.

I can't comment to the durability, as I'm not generally in the habit of tossing my remote around However from a functionality standpoint, the 520 or 550 would be more than enough.
And yes, you can program it to do anything that the original component's remote would do (including changing inputs on the receiver and such).

I've had a Harmony 688 and a Harmony One. Over the years, the 688 controlled two different Comcast DVRs and the Harmony One has controlled a Comcast DVR and now a DirecTV DVR. I have never had any issues.

The 880 does a fine job controlling my Motorola VIP 1216 uverse DVR.

Wasn't someone selling an 880 recently on here? Newegg has an email code for the 880 (new one) right now. EMCLNMV28
