Love it. I have the steelbooks but I love the traditional black/red w/ghost logo. Simple and perfect! What a great movie...

First re-release that isn’t just an existing disc repackaged.

I already have both but this sounds very interesting.

I guess it's wishful thinking these deleted scenes have been remastered and put back into the movie as an option (kind of like Arrow did with Re-Animator with the TV footage)...

The artwork alone is probably worth the double dip.

I’ve been wanting to see the Fort Detmerring stuff for almost a quarter of a century! I will have to get this!

Correction, I just realized I forgot a decade there. I’ve been wanting to see that stuff for almost 35 years now!

Check the link with the clip. At the end they specifically mention 4K UHD release.

I bought the UK editions since the logos weren't messed with. Though the logo for GB1 is still backwards on the disc art. I picked up the US edition to maybe swap discs, but luckily I watched an unboxing vid of the US edition as the logo was surprisingly backwards on the disc label for the US edition also!

It literally says "Limited Edition 4K Ultra HD steelbook" at the end of the video clip that was featured by EW, but with the original audio denoted as (Blu-ray only) in the article then it's a fair bet that Sony are producing new BDs to include the new extras but are packing them in with the existing 4K discs.

This'd be, what, the fourth time these have been redone on BD? Original Blu-ray, Mi4K high bitrate standalone, Mi4K re-encode with extras, now this. And I've bought each one of them! I've even bought the UHDs twice already, once for the US discs but they looked horrible in converted SDR so I sold them, I picked them up again on the UK UHDs with that badass OG artwork.

TBH though I don't really see the point of including the 4K discs again if they're not going to change anything on them. Oh well, I'm still buying it.

I suppose I'll be muxing the original stereo audio into the 4K.

Wishful thinking? Hopefully that's all it'll ever be, Ghostbusters is perfect and doesn't need any deleted scenes lumped in for the sake of it.

Isn't there at least one deleted scene that was on the laserdisc and then never released again?

I'm not a huge fan of these movies but that steelbook is pretty and I hope to get a UHD to go alongside (or replace, or whatever) my blu digibook thingy. Later on. When it's cheaper than whatever it will be.
