A 3D conversion has not yet been announced for this film. Although I'd say it's pretty much a certainty.

Yes, especially as RealD shared the trailer!

Many people, myself included, loved TLJ and don't think the trillogy needs rescuing though

The new trilogy and it's offshoots should be burned. The producers and directors should
be fired.

The Last Jedi and Solo killed the franchise for me. Sour, negative, miserably depressing
films. There was no need to trash the old characters and marginalize them so that they
can sell new characters. They could have let the original heroic characters co-exist in
their own series. Luke Skywalker is one of the cinema's great heroic characters with an
enormous fanbase, so they turn him into a coward and a wuss and trick the actor into a
contract he can't get out of by the time he realizes the stunt they've pulled. It was a
shitty thing to do. Millions of fans expecting to see more Luke Skywalker adventures,
and then they get something else. What a waste.

Solo was amazing...I want more like that. Not happy they axed Luke but looks like he'll be back in some form for the new one.

Well - I disagree. TLJ certainly had some major issues but I dont think it ruined anything. What WILL ruin the sequel trilogy is a crappy Episode 9. If they get this last film in this storyline right then I can live with the flaws of TLJ. If this last film is dodgy, irritating or just plain meh then there is a good chance Im done with the sequel trilogy and will stick to the prequels, the OT and Rogue One & stop with those.

That being said, I really hpe we get it in 3D. Then, the sequel trilogy will be all in 3D along with Rogue One and that'll be sweet! Solo didnt do much for me so I didnt mention that movie.

Wow! Fans having super intense opinions about the SW films. Who could ever have seen that one coming?!?

PS - if this is a conversion I have zero interest in watching a 3D version.

It's a conversion. That's not a bad thing, as they mostly bring stunning results, sometimes even more than native. Last native movie recently was Alita: Battle Angel.

Based on my experience over the last 10 years, I totally don't agree with this. Maybe they look fine to others, but for me it's become very underwhelming overall. It's not that they totally suck, it's just not worth the hassle for me.

Having said that, oddly enough I have to confess a fondness for all older movies that have been converted many years after their original release. I've enjoyed the conversions of Phantom Menace, Titanic, Jurassic Park and Top Gun.

All the new movies are awesome. Most importantly, they’ve created an entire new generation of young fans. The only thing sour, negative, and miserably depressing is the aura you give off.

All I want from Star Wars at this point is a straight-forward Luke Skywalker
adventure in which the older Luke is a good, decent, heroic man and the star
of the film.

Starring Mark Hammill. We're near the same age and I relate.

Mark Hammill expressed himself on the matter, and I'm with him, not you.

Going to a movie with a pre-conceived notion of what you expect to see will only lead to disappointment.

Unless you expect it to be the worst movie of all time.

Except if the movie actually matches up with your pre-conceived notion of it.

I have enjoyed the Star Wars movies and I'll be there opening weekend for this one. TLJ was not a great movie and while I liked Solo, it didn't feel like a Star Wars movie, just felt like a good movie.

With the new series opening on Disney streaming later this year and Episode IX, Star Wars can end the year big. Then we will probably have a 2 year wait while the GOT guys get their trilogy going.
