Well since most people in NA hate subtitle i understand the need to do remakes for that audience. Most movies with sub fail here. While in other countries it's actually preferable..

Thumbs up

I ordered an extra copy for myself through my video outlet. For a blind buy I was very impressed with the film. Great tense and chaotic scenes. Very dark movie, but that being said the PQ is quite good. The action and gore doesn't get lost in the black backgrounds. 4/5.

The SQ is solid and immersive, particularly the events outside where you can hear helicopters circling over and around the building. Even the building itself, revealing its age with creaks and groans that are pleasantly reproduced through every speaker of your surround setup. Just thought the dialog was sometimes overwhelmed by the ambient effects. 4.5/5.

Loved the film itself. Having not seen REC to base any comparisons to, I give the movie a 4/5. Jennifer Caprenter's journalism skills were sometimes silly, eating away the first 20 min or so of the film, my only gripe.

Thumbs up

That's exactly what I think. The audio was good but I couldn't really hear any dialogue strength, which was not the case with "Cloverfield".

And I'm really glad this is a 1.85:1 because It would have been difficult to keep up otherwise.

You can watch REC on Youtube. it's only about 80 minutes or so but worth it. It is extremely unnerving. Quarantine is pretty much a shot for shot reshoot but REC's story line is much more interesting and creepy instead of the standard hollywood cliche in Q though I have to say I enjoyed Q also. from what I have heard, a REC sequel is in the works that will follow up on the creepy plotline that REC was built on.

REC 2 is currently wrapping up production.
I hope we get a Quarantine 2 as well.

I really dug this movie, but I can't afford to drop $27.99 on it. I'll wait till I get some Rewards Zone bucks, or a good coupon somewhere.

That's because most of my "fellow" Americans have gotten so lazy they don't want to read, ANYTHING, especially a subtitled movie. Just look at magazines and newspapers. The prices keep going up while the content goes down, and more then half of that content is advertising mainly due to low sales on "newsstands." Personally, I prefer subtitles in foreign movies if I have letterbox format so the words will be in the black at the bottom and not in the picture.

'

Or you know maybe they can't get into words and want to rely on audio instead.

just finished watching Quarantine and they did a fantastic job! PQ is a solid 4-4.5 and sound i would give it a 4-4.5.

i hesitate to recommend a blind buy, seems to be a hate it or love it film. i saw it in the theater and blu ray, <3 it!

it just depends on how blu-ray rents in that location.
where I work the minimum copies we get is 2 for a small title.
we got 5 for Quarantine.

I liked REC. It wasn't amazing but it had some tension. It scores by delivering a realistic, believable feel.

Watched this last night. I enjoyed it, but it doesn't quite deliver. It starts off great, with the humor, but it slowly gets less interesting. Don't get me wrong, it was freaky, but it didn't do anything outstanding. The ending was also a bit of a letdown and a plothole, not to mention that
[Show spoiler]you see it in the trailer.
