Default having problem with my hdmi outputs only saying 1080

Hi I have 46inch 650,when I watch tv I see in the info bar that it is showing [1080i,720i and so on]but when I hooked my xbox 360 with hdmi cable and samsung bd2500 when i switch scorce to use them the info bar only says 1080,no i or p.I think it is a cable problem,I had a sony upconverting dvd hooked up hdmi and when I used that the info bar would say 1080i.Please help is it as simple as getting hdim 1.3 or what ever the new one is. Thanks

"1080" minus the "i" as you've noticed, is in fact 1080p. Everything is fine. Relax. The 'p' in simply omitted and means nothing.

Right, my Samsung does the same thing. Pressing the info button, it'll display 1080i (for example, when watching HD TV or an upscaled DVD). But when watching a blu-ray, it only says "1080", no "p" or "i" at the end, which is 1080p. I did the same as you, I wondered about it a long time ago when I first went blu and asked this same question.
