'well go usa' licensed this for the states. a short theatrical run, i think. no disc, or streaming, that i can find.

Interesting - I haven't heard anything about this one and try my best to keep myself in the loop over what Well Go USA distributes. On that note, I need to definitely look into this one and would love it if anyone can offer up their brief, spoiler-free thoughts on this one if they have seen it.

I wrote a review for the film, which can be read here, if you’re interested. I do talk briefly about the plot of the film, but nothing that’s not in the trailer. It’s social commentary is excellent, however, the character of the killer leaves a lot to be desired.

I have never really liked the reviews by "The Movie Beat." I think I was forever turned-off by his reviews when he basically said Miss Baek was a "meh" film when I truly believe it is one of the top 5 films of 2018. But I do thoroughly appreciate the link still.

I'll definitely take a written review by thisgenius though.

Thanks as always, kind sir. Some quick research I have been doing while working seems to indicate some elements of the flick are "by the numbers" so to speak with the killer, but some of the acting is very strong. It sounds like this one is probably not a blind buy but something I should try to watch wherever possible.

Yeah, the killer’s probably the only major gripe I had with the film. Lee Sung-min is excellent in the lead role though!

Not a fan of that youtubechannel either, too much about what happens in the movie and very dry, I ususally skip to the end for the sum-up.

Wow, didn't know thisgenius is writing for asianmoviepulse, I've been a fan of that site for a long time!

This movie seems like a good time for a rainy Friday night, but my gut says pass on owning it at that price. I'll keep my eye out for it on streaming sites or maybe a cheaper HK release in the future.

Saw this at a local NY cinema on my birthday, 2018 - roughly 1,000 years ago.

Five shots in and we're off and running - taking its cue from the Kitty Genovese urban legend, I found it a cracking old-school thriller with a socially relevant undertow (dig that haunting, poetic ending). Also: "Crystal clear as s***" was the line of that year for me.

If it wasn't so hard/expensive to find, it'd be in my collection. Hoping I get to see it again, as I imagine it is more relevant than ever.

I was very hard on "The Movie Beat" channel in the post above, almost 3 years ago. But I really grew to like the channel over the next years - in fact, I think he's one of the best for Korean movies on youtube. Also enjoyed the blu-ray shopping videos he did. But then all of a sudden he stopped making videos (last August), anyone know why? I hope he's okay.

Glad you came around to his channel. I agree he's one of the best for Korean movie content, and he almost single handedly renewed my interest in collecting Korean movies. On top of that Tyler personally helped me acquire many out of print titles. He's a top guy.

No need to worry by the way. He started a new full time job end of 2021. He's doing well but currently has no time to devote to the channel. Hopefully he can find some in the coming months.
