Pre-ordered this morning. I wanted this for Inseminoid primarily but since I hadn't purchased any of the VS releases yet I took the opportunity to grab this for a fair price and knock out a number of those films I was considering as well. Really looking forward to diving into this set. I've never picked up a Powerhouse box set before, do they generally use individual cases/artwork for releases like this? I'm hoping for some original art with each film.

Yes each disk comes in an individual plastic case and these sit in the rigid card outer box along with the book.

even though I already own one of the vs releases, and am getting the other one during the half way to black Friday sale, there was no way I was passing up this box set, since Indicator/powerhouse sets are very nicely done and each will have different extras and maybe a different transfer as well

The front cover artwork will be the images shown in this thread's initial post. They should also have artwork on the reverse side, as per all other Indicator releases.

For those of you pining for Inseminoid but have all the VS Warren flicks, the rumor mill says that Inseminoid will get a stand-alone release down the road.

It is a limited run of 6,000 copies. I'm not sure how long it will take them to sell out or even come close to selling out the set, such that they would want to release the stand alone Inseminoid, since VS doesn't have US rights making a US release less likely and upping the number of people who would buy the set just for that film. I pre-ordered just for the two I'm missing and all the short films and documentaries. For what it's worth, I wouldn't expect a stand alone for at least a couple of years, but, at sell out, I would second that it will get one as it will probably still be the only blu release in the world.

Pete Walker would be the closest comparison there.

So you think the 2K transfer of PREY on the Indicator disc will be different from the 2K transfer from VS?

I believe Vinegar Syndrome's release of Terror is in the wrong aspect ratio, so that one should be an improvement at the very least.

1.85:1? Which it is and is fine. 1.75:1? Possible but not much difference anyway. 1.66:1? Bollocks to that.

The only certain we have for now is that these are the same masters from vinegar syndrome editions.

I asked them about the uncut status and this is what they replied:

"We are still at work on the Bloody Terror release at the moment, but please be assured that it is very much our intention to release each of the films in their fullest versions. We will be using the same masters as the Vinegar Syndrome editions.".
