![]() New series premiered this past weekend on Netflix. Features: Christina Applegate, Linda Cardellini, James Marsden, and Ed Asner. Just started it yesterday, and finished it today. Really enjoyed it. Love these 30 minute drama/comedy hybrids. |

Christina Applegate is incredible in this. She blew me away, actually, and the show itself is addictive. I finished it in two nights, which is the fastest I've devoured a Netflix original in quite a while.

I really enjoyed this season, though some of it felt a bit uneven in tone, and pacing. It's certainly an interesting concept for a show, and I thought the writing, and dark humor in it were particularly strong. There's a little bit of a soap-opera feel to it, with plenty of cliffhangers, and melodrama which kind of made it feel less grounded in reality at times, but that's a minor nitpick.
I thought Christina Applegate was truly excellent here, and probably deserves to be nominated for any Emmy or whatever for her performance. Cardellini was also very good, and the two played off one another very nicely. I'm a bit mixed on how it ended. I too had been wondering until those last few minutes how they could get a season 2 out of this, and whether they should or not. As much as I enjoyed it, I felt like it's the kind of show that could have worked perfectly fine as a limited series. It's actually the same way I (and I'm sure most others) felt about the end of 13 Reasons Why. Let's hope future seasons turn out better than that one did. |

If it doesn't get a season two, that ending is awful. But at the same time, 10 episodes seemed kind of drawn out already... so I'm not sure exactly what they'll do if they get another 10. |

MifuneFan hit the nail on the head. I think it was an entertaining show. However, I don't see how it couldn't have just been concluded as a limited series.
Not sure I'm on board for a second season. I can see how it might resort to sticking to the same kind of formula, thus repeating itself and losing the impact of the first season. With that said, I have little to complain about. I liked it, and am glad to accept it for what it is, whether there IS a season 2 or not (even if it's good or not). I think I prefer to just make my own conclusion that tops things off easily. |
