So glad it's only 3yr wait. Plenty enough time to reset, and start a new 6 yr saga.

I agree with 2 of those 3. Hint, Nolan directed both of them. I’m not trying to stir up trouble. You have every right to your opinion.

You think Leonard Part 6 is bad, try Leonard Parts 1-5. Those were so staggeringly awful no one will admit they even exist!

Dunkirk was so damn awful. It’s literally a demo reel for crappy audio design and wasted 70mm cinematography. No characters, too sentimental, it’s a nothing film.

Amazing. Every word of what you just said was wrong.

Rian Johnson could do a decent Star Wars Universe film, but did a horrible job with a Luke Skywalker film.

Given a clean slate of characters, I have little doubt he could make a decent film and trilogy. Unfortunately, he chose to take the series in a direction which alienated many fans by failing to realize that he bastardized characters many of us have loved for over 30 years. He also should have deleted the entire casino scene which added absolutely nothing to the plot.

To be honest, I will probably watch the next movie in a theatre with my daughter over Christmas break, but after that will catch these flicks when they show up on Disney+ or disk. To me, the original trilogy was complete, flawed but complete, and the prequels, mousifications, and TV series are lesser diversions.

game of thrones after tywin's death is one of the worst shows of all time. nothing makes sense, they just make cool OMG EPIC LIT AF xD fanservice scenes. those two showrunners are incredibly big hacks. i tapped out after the battle for winterfell. and star wars is dead and buried to me anway after the last jedi debacle, so this is like a perfect storm, feels rather cathartic.

And this is the main reason some people disliked what he did with Luke; from the mistaken assumption it's still Luke's story. The sequel trilogy is Rey and Kylo's trilogy, not Luke's. Rey and Kylo are the main characters, not Luke. The Last Jedi is not a Luke Skywalker film. It's a Rey and Kylo Ren film in which Luke is a major supporting character. It's even mentioned in The Director And The Jedi that this is the main reason Mark Hamill at first disagreed with Rian's direction; Mark was under the same mistaken assumption that Luke was still going to be the main hero of this trilogy and not a supporting character in an Obi-Wan/Yoda type role.

It's probably for the best to eliminate the RJ trilogy. They don't want to over saturate the SW market. Especially with these films doing so poorly in Asia.

Not really. TLJ was a financial success and did extremely well with critics with that high fresh rating. It's good business so Disney are going to keep that going. It's a smart move to capitalize on success. Of course, that could all change if IX isn't successful financially, but as of right now there is simply no real reason for them to "eliminate" Rian Johnson's Trilogy.

It was a success. But with Disney really focusing on their Disney+ series shows, which there are multiple SW series in production, and will be film quality, it makes sense to not also have another trilogy going on at the same time.

So......a fair amount of people have issues with the latest and final season of GOT, mainly the writing by D&D.

Oh boy.....SW can't catch a break.

That's a fair point, however I personally am fine with more SW. They could tie-in the series with the movies somehow, if they are feeling bold enough.

Citation needed. it's pretty well established that the films aren't doing great in China, but I didn't think that was true for the entire region, especially Japan.

If by "have issues with" you mean "can't believe they screwed it up this badly"...

D&D seem to do best when they're adapting, maybe they'll be working off an existing SW property.
