Default The Mountain (Jeff Goldblum, Tye Sheridan, Udo Kier)

Quote:

Set in the 1950s, the story centers on Jeff Goldblum’s character, Dr. Wallace Fiennes, who goes on a tour of sorts to promote lobotomies as a treatment of asylum patients, as you do. Joining him in this venture is Tye Sheridan‘s Andy, a troubled young man who acts as the doctor’s assistant and photographer but who harbors doubts about the brutal practice’s efficacy, especially concerning his own mother who was subjected to it.

Director Rick Alverson‘s The Mountain also stars Hannah Gross, Denis Lavant, and Udo Kier. Look for it in theaters July 26.

I like the look of this, creepy and hypnotic, and seems perfectly suited for Goldblum’s performance.

I love Alverson, not to mention his continued use of Sheridan in his films and the addition of Jeff Goldblum. The film looks hypnotic, and like it has something to say about the state of America.
