Would have been cool if they did individual steels like the Harry Potter series and the upcoming Batman quadrilogy. Maybe 4K for these won’t be too far behind and we can get a set like the ones mentioned or like the JP double steel 4K set.

I prefer individual Steels. They already have them from Zavvi and Germany released a jumbo sized SteelBook with the exact same artwork.

Stacked discs doesn’t bother me if they are Blu-ray due to the scratch resistance. Still, I might wait until this goes down in price.

The Zavvi individual steelbooks were the best.

I'll wait for 4K.
Paramount will still own the first 4 movies, unlike the Star Wars sequels and prequels Lucasfilm doesn’t own the 4 Indy movies, paramount does.lucasfilm and Disney only own any future movies in the series.

Stacked discs, I understand to accommodate the 5th bonus disc but no interior art is just plain lazy and is a big pass for me. No digital copy is stupid too.

Come on, Paramount.

Has there been talk of these on 4K yet? Because I do kinda want to get this, but if 4K is right around the corner, there isn’t much point.

They are more than likely waiting until the next movie comes out, whenever that is, if it's still happening.

I was looking at the Indy steelbook in a Walmart tonight. It had a sticker noting a Vudu code for digital copy. I think it said 'on receipt', and I didn't have the presence of mind to take a picture (also, it was very close to closing, I went there after the movie theater).

A Walmart that isn't 24 hours? I kinda like that.

Since its a walmart exclusive its gonna be an instawatch title. So when you scan the receipt it should add the movies to your vudu account if you have it linked with walmart.

drives me insane.
Everything shuts down before 10pm in Maine. except Walmarts (open to 12), a handful of restaurants (still done at 1am at best) and most gas stations with convenience stores.
there's a "24 hour" diner in Brunswick that only does 24 hrs in the summer, otherwise it's like 8a-9p.
I can't even go to a movie that starts after 10pm.

I know how Instawatch works, and the sticker didn't say Instawatch.

I remember passing in Augusta some months ago and seeing the Augusta Wally World open at 1 am.

Your forgot Denny's in Portland that's 24 hours. Good place when you need to find food to sober up with a Denny's full breakfast at 2 am lol

Used to drive up there a lot.

A Walmart near my work is like stepping into 1993. It's not a supercenter. It closes at 10pm. There's a magazine rack and Subway on the right immediately when you walk in. The paltry grocery section is smack dab in the middle of the store. Their electronics/media department is just after that and leaves much to be desired. Every time I walk in there, my inner 8 year old me wants to hunt down the VHS's so I can grab a copy of Batman Returns and run to my mom to ask her for it when I know she's gonna say no like she did EVERY time.

Ah, memories...

Steelbooks seem to be going the way of regular Blu-ray releases sadly. I remember when Blu-ray was a new format, most of the releases had nice thick paper used for the artwork, there was inside artwork as well and the discs had images on them. And the animated menus had some effort put into them as well.

Now most Blu-ray releases come in eco cases with the generic blue disc with the title printed on it, and a lazy menu navigation that looks like it came from a free trial version of a DVD burner program.

I’m seeing the same laziness in some steelbooks now. No inside art, stacked discs, no disc artwork, some don’t even have titles on the spine or front. Granted that’s a personal pet peeve of mine but still.

If I’m going to pay a premium for a format that I know is sadly dying, at least put some effort into it.

Thumbs up

Oddly enough, I don't own these movies on Blu yet. So all four, plus a bonus disc, in a standard-sized Steel? I might have to get this. No digital codes is disappointing, though.
