Denon , Marantz, Polk Audio, Onkyo, Integra , Pioneer.. All under one company.

Who knows in the future all the companies might merge in to one and the choices of A/V receivers might go down. Many consumers are not buying A/V receivers and are instead using their stereo speakers in their flat panel screen.

What's the situation now?

Are A/V Receivers made under contract or is there a Denon or a Pioneer
exclusive Factory? Does Denon (for example) set out a list of
specifications (functionality and performance) and allow a contract
Factory to build the A/V Receiver?
