The reviews I've read for these are all very promising. I'm planning on stopping by my local Audioshop and giving them a listen.

as price is a considerable factor in determining our purchase when it comes to speakers, i wouldnt necessarily consider it as my baseline.

first and foremost, have you auditioned these speakers?

how does it sound for you? have you auditioned these speakers against others within your current price range?

I have been using energy E:XL model fronts and center speaker now for something like 6 years I believe.. they are rock solid. I have not really even thought about upgrading them because for my smallish room, I don't think I could do much better. I have used them with a Denon amp and they are very efficient.. I have never gotten out of the negatives on the amp.

I have not heard the newer model energy speakers. It seems to me the 'classic' line is fairly similar to the older energy models like I have. I've never heard their subs. Their subs don't seem to win great acclaim but i would imagine it would be solid.

Energy makes really good speakers and are definitely a value at their price point. They seem to be around the same league as Polk, maybe better (haven't had any polks myself). I think they are a step above JBL and some of the other brands you will find at best buy or whatever.

Anyways, that's mainly my opinion. I do not know if Energy has cut any corners to make this HTIB package that is $600 but only way to know is to give them a listen!

I have these and they are great speakers for the size. Not as great as full range tower speakers, but a helluva lot better than bose and JBL speakers of the same size. Bass is a bit week, so I'd recommend a better subwoofer.
