Default Any beat makers out there?

So I just purchased a Korg nanoPAD and I'm gonna start messing around with it once my shipment comes in. I'm going to order the nanoKONTROL also.

I'm most likely going to get Ableton and Traktor Pro.

Anything else I should consider before I get started? I'm rather new to this. My brother DJ's so we want to mix the two so I can work background beats to his scratching.

So I went ahead and ordered the nanoKONTROL also. Both should be here this week.

Going to try the demo of Ableton when that comes in.

Where are the other beat makers?

I just have a regular PC with Sonic Foundry Acid v.4
and samples downloaded from sampleswap.org +
my own samples from various tv shows and movies and so forth.
You can make some pretty insane beats on your pc with the right music
program and samples.
All those items you ordered, I have no idea what they are
Are you gonna publish your work on the internet?

I'm using Cakewalk software midi to my Yamaha keyboard. I create beats and store to my pc. I use to be a drummer in a R&B band back in the 70's. Love the technology of music today, but I still miss the old school style of playing live with other musicians.

It's mostly to complement my brother that DJ's. This way he can have beats on the fly to scratch to and sound effects if he needs/wants them.

I'll put pics up of the setup once I get everything in.

Nice, I love making beats.
I've always been very rythmic, and I forgot to say that I also have a crappy
electronic drum set. But it's suffecient if you wanna fool around and still come up with decent beats.
Look forward to your setup pics.
