Default Disney Movie Club exclusives

Hi.

I live in UK, but would love to get more of the Disney movie club exclusive Blu-rays, but I can’t join as I live outside of USA/Canada. I’ve been buying a few from eBay, but the prices are quite high, then once postage is added they work out about £35 each.

Does anyone know where I could buy them cheaper?

Thanks for your help.

I'm not in the club but I own all the ones I want (I HATE those clubs). I have looked everywhere and Ebay is the best place. The key is to buy them within the first 3 months (the longer you wait the higher the prices go and sometimes they become extremely hard to get). You don't want to go there right away because some scalpers charge too much at the beginning, wait about a month after they are released. The only way to get them is on auction. You have to be patient and not get discouraged. For me part of the fun of collecting blu rays is getting the best deal. The hardest are these titles and the Scream/Shout titles. The most I have ever paid for either is $22.50 (With Shout you have to wait for one of their lame sales and spend about $200.00). I bought Treasure Island and
Blackbeard's Ghost for around $18.00 on Ebay auctions and that is a combination of patience and luck. Good luck to you....

Not sure why this isn't in the actual DMC Exclusives thread, but no there really isn't a simple, cheap way to get the exclusives.

THe best/cheapest way is get a friend or maybe family in the US who really may not be interested in the movies to join the club for you and ship you packages directly.

OTOH I admire that there are people who are so principled that they are willing to stick to their guns and pay nearly triple so they aren't strongarmed into joining a club. Money still isn't everything. Not sure what the hatred stems from, but it beats hypocrisy I guess.

I technically still have one title that I need to buy to fulfill my club membership. If there's someone in the domestic US that wants some of the exclusives, I'm willing to discuss ordering them for you. But it really only makes sense if you want more than one, so you get each additional one at 50% off due to Disney's high shipping cost.

I managed to get Cool Runnings new and sealed for just over £20 including shipping via ebay. Worth keeping a watch set up on ebay for the titles you're interested in and pounce when they turn up at a price you like.

It comes from bad experiences with these clubs back in the CD days. They keep sending stuff you don't want, you send it back, they charge you for it anyway, they claim they never got it, etc. There are just a few Disney titles I want, the rest are crap in my opinion and I wouldn't take them if you gave them to me for free. Just my personal taste. As I have stated before, I have about 5 titles left and I am done with Disney and their B.S. (barebones releases, putting out crap like Monkees Go Home over more deserving titles, etc). The reason I buy them anyway as much as they piss me off is that the PQ is good, I save the Dvds with the extras and I figure these will be the last physical releases of these films ever. So I bite the bullet and buy them anyway. Paying the extra $ is worth it for me not to join their club.....

If you're down to stream, Disney+ will feature HD/4K for every single title they've done except for Song of the South, so...

I don't pay triple, neither am I strongarmed into joining Disney's ridiculous club. I just scored THE COMPUTER WORE TENNIS SHOES from eBay for $20.

Ridiculous or not, I'll accept the limitations for the savings and the access. I still figure getting 8-9 Exclusive titles for $63-72 is better tjam $20 for one.

I most certainly wouldn't go that far. I've been a member of so many of these clubs over the years (1970 was my first LP club) I long ago lost count. I will guarantee I've had some bad moments and plenty of my friends have as well with the poorly run clubs NO MATTER how vigilent you are -- and I'm pretty organized about such things. Hard to sign up, hard to correct errors (not getting items, getting wrong items, mailed items you 100% declined), paying for stamps to mail cards back, nearly impossible separation for some clubs who continue to send itmes and bills after you've officially and legally cancelled.

OTOH -- DMC is run the right way and with the internet it's 1% of the work compared to the old days and especially days before Credit Cards were helpful. Tarring and feathering DMC based on what BMG did to you 20 years ago pr CH did 5-7 years ago is pretty much akin to refusing to eat at any restaurant b/c 3rd Level McDonalds knock off made you ill on one visit in 1985 or refusing to buy a new Honda b/c your 6yo 100K mile used Yugo sucked so bad.
