Sony s350 picture quality setting ? - Blu-ray Forum

Can anybody explain what these settings are and what is best?
The differn't settings are standard brighter room and theater room.

List the settings and I will help you with them. However if you are using an HDMI 1080p connection I wouldn't touch them with a 50 yard pole and a midget holding it up.

They are
Standard
Brighter Room and
Theater Room

I am using HDMI 1080P. Was wondering what they are and there is no way to turn it off that i'm aware of.

Leave it set to standard and don't touch the other three settings below it. digital noise reduction and so on with muddy the 1080p picture. Trust me leave it be and let the glory of bluray touch your screen

i actually have mine set to theater room and it looks very good
but only when my room has absolutly no light do i put it on that settings, if there is even a little bit of light i switch it to Standard

I would leave your BDP settings at default and adjust at the display level.

OK thanks. I will leave it at standard and set dnr and others to off wasn't aware of it. thought it was a help than more of a hinderance. I have set my own custom picture controls but probaly setting dnr and others to off will make display look better.
