Definitely Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. I've watched it like 3 times, the uhd is fantastic, I remember the blu ray looking really weak.

Oops. I should have remembered Godzilla had a Mi4K release.

Wasn't aware of the Groundhog Day rerelease though. Not seeing it in a search either. Was it an exclusive or something?

Along with Leon The Professional 4K and that whole line. I watched some of Predator 2 today and thought it looked very clean, but then again some of the older movies (Pet Cemetary 89', They Live, Rambo FB, The Big Lebowski etc.) I haven't really looked at closely (critical eyes) since VHS/DVD days so for me they look drastically GOOD at times.

For me most older movies with early CGI scenes don't hold up. Even Predator 2 you can clearly see the bodies hanging in the early scenes are make-upy looking dummys hanging with fake blood. I dig it but it's funny how all the effects in those movies/films don't hold up. Don't get me wrong they look better than ever but the fantasy they created is exposed.

Even a movie like Apocalypto that strived for realism and looks fantastic on Blu-ray fed to a 4K Sony panel loses some realism when you see them hunt the wild boar early on and know they couldn't actually kill a wild pig. It's clearly a puppet with animaltronic eyes and other remote controls for limbs, neck, snout... what have you. And that doesn't even have a 4K release so that will be even more noticable if that is ever released. The 1080p Blu-Ray holds up more realistically than the CGI bear in The Revenant. But both are really as good as filmmakers can pull off for the times they were built.

I believe The Shining will be an AMAZING 4K visual treat when that gets released.

The only really horrible blu-rays for me was Predator and old Spaghetti Westerns to answer your question.

The original Predator, remastered Evil Dead 2, and First Blood UK editions or remasters, were not bad at all.

The IMAX scenes look great, but the 35mm scenes are riddled with DNR and edge enhancement, as well being graded too dark.

The Patriot uses the archaic original Blu-ray disc but the UHD is the Theatrical Cut and is fully remastered. The Big Lebowski has a better UHD compared to the BD. Same goes for Hook.
