Default buying new hdtv lcd/plasma....

Ok so im looking for a new hdtv, just sold my 40" sony for 800 to my parents. now im looking to get a bigger hdtv, id like a 50 or 52 inch hdtv or even a 60 lcd or plasma.........which one is the best for gaming and bluray movies?

ive heard that samsungs are great for movies and games (i also heard that they can suck for games though b/c of the dnie or gamemode that makes your games look really dark....is this true)

my price range is around 1800.00 or 2000.00

i saw a plasma samsung at circuit city for 1300.00 it was a 50" or 52" set and look really nice......thinking about going back tomorrow and getting that one but i wanted to see what you guys though, i love the way samsung's hdtvs look at bestbuy when they are showing bluray movies on it.

Again ive always had sony lcds and i like them but it seems like everyone is raving about the samsung.

help a very confussed movie/game lover!

Ordered mine received it in a week. The free white glove delivery guys plugged it in, hooked up the cables and started the tvs channel programming.
Had mine for a couple of weeks now and it is worthy of all the positive reviews it gets.
Watched a show about space and there was a scene with a satellite looking like it was suspended in the middle of a void inside of the tvs frame. Shiny, shimmery, inky blacks truly.

Inky blacks are plasmas turff. What model plasma did you see for $1,300? Everyone is Kuro crazy!! Can you blame umm $2,000 will get you a Pioneer 5020, best PQ on the block.

you need to consider the panny line up! 85u, 800u etc. I have the 80u and love it! Amazing tv. After pioneer kuro's the panasonic viera line is the way to go!

^^^ Yep, can't go wrong with Kuro. It's the best TV on the market (next to the Elite), and you can't beat the price these days! Get your Kuro while you still can, cause they aren't making any more.

Thumbs up Get a real movie experience and get a front projector!

I think for that kind of budget you should get a front projector. You can get a Sanyo 1080 front projector for $1599 and then $200-$250 for a screen and then you will have a huge screen! Front projectors can be tuned anywhere from your tiny TV's of 36" all they to over 10 feet! Once you have had a front projector you will never buy a TV again!
